Some of us participate in other swaps, some where the amount is 5 - 6 cards per swap. What do you do with all of them? I have an idea, and I'd like to share it with you. What do you do with all the cards you get from swaps? I use some for my own things, I file some away for ideas, and then there are the ones that are so great, but I can't keep them all. So, I give a box to the nursing home for residents to receive or give. I have now been asked if I have extras, "IF"???, would I mind sharing them with hospice. Of course I don't, they give them to family members and to the patients to cheer them a little, and to give them a bright spot. The other place I share them with if they are kids cards is the children's ward of the hospital, the kids need to have something to get besides shots....or the dialysis unit on their chairs when they come in for treatment. I know alot of USO or service organizations are taking them for our military, too. Just a few ideas of where to put them to the best use.....can you think of others?
I send them out.........to people on our prayer list at church, and am on the birthday/anniversary list at church......
We have a card ministry so we can use all we get our hands on or as many as myself and dd can create!!!
I give them away in packetts to others as well.........just give them a blessing .......
I send to a person through chemo angels. I also send to a soldier through the Adopt-a-Platoon site. Plus my nephew-in-law is recently back in Iraq, so add him to the list too. Also a sibling through the Keiki Cards organization. I send out about about 6-8 cards each week just for those things.
With extras, I try once per month to write up cards "from a friend" for the nursing home/rehab center I work at. I'm a therapist, so I can get my patients who are working on prevoc tasks to address them and sign them. Then another patient has a prevoc task of delivering mail. So that's making everyone happy!
Lastly if I have any extras left over I send them to Keiki Cards, but haven't had many leftovers lately!
I just donated a bunch to Suzanne, who is collecting cards to take to families/patients at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

Lots of places would love a few extra cards. I think it is wonderful that we share our artwork with so many.
