What is the differance between matt board and chip Board?
 

What would you use chip board for.where can I get this.Same question for Matt board.

I am certainly no expert, but chipboard is a wood product (usually) and it not "pretty" It is used a lot underneath veneers in furniture. Some recycled products are made into chipboard and they are used at the end of a pad of paper for strength. Mat board is "heavy duty" cardboard and comes in many colors.
You can buy mat board at your local craft store (like Michaels). I am not sure about chip board. I would just do a search on the net and see what pops up.

The chipboard used in paper crafts is different from the chipboard used in woodworking. If you have a pad of paper around, flip it over. See the slightly rough, greyish-brown cardboard on the back? That is chipboard. It comes in a variety of weights. I bought mine from a paper supply store and had to buy a full case of it (something like 980 sheets). I can usually find it in any of the local stamping stores by the sheet. You might also be able to get some from a local printer. I use it to construct boxes which will be covered in decorative paper or to put a sturdy bottom in the bottom of a bag.

Matt board is thicker and more attractive. It's the stuff picture frame matts are made from. You can find it in the framing department of craft stores. I often use it as the base for a book cover.
