What to Charge $$$$$... Please Help?

I made this Name frame for a Customer and she's also a good friend. She's going to be giving it to her Brother and New Wife for Christmas. I'm trying to fiquire out what to charge her though. The frame I got at Walmart for $6.00 and I had everything else to make it. I want to be fair but It took me all day and I'd love to profit from it too. Is there anyone out there that has sold these? I've always just made them for people from me. here it is: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=17031

Thanks and Hugs Terry

A million dollars :)

How many hours do have into it? That's what I would base my price on + your costs.

That's beautiful! Its hard to say what you would be comfortable with, but I would pay $30 or more for it. Its really nice.

Oh..I would love to have one of those :) You did a great job!

I haven't made one yet (but I'm sure it would also take me all day!) but seems like I have heard of people charging $25, if that at least gives you an idea. If you walked into a nice gift shop and saw your frame, think about how much you think they would charge for it!

Thank you all, I really appreaciate everyone's input. I think some sleep for me may help too. I'll check in again tomorrow. TFL

That is way cute! I'd probably expect to pay between $20-30 for it.

Not sure, but it's a beaut!!

Jillgunter 11-28-2007 03:46 AM

I would expect at least $25. That is beautiful btw:)

i would say at least $25 too

Depending on your market -- anywhere between $25 and $50. Really. You spent "all day" on it. Figure that for 6 solid hours. Minimum wage for 6 hours plus supplies and you are at $50. But, you are competing with companies that can churn this stuff out assembly line. So, I'd say $30 at least.

Wow, that is one of the best name frames I have seen so far. I love your layout and how you layered each letter. Your colors are pretty, too. I would pay at least $25 for something that nice and personalized. I think its regional, too. I live next to a town with very high end giftshops that would sell that for $50 with no problem.

thank you all. I said it took me all day but you know how the days go. In and outs, stops to do some stuff around the house but I think It took me at least 6 hours. from start to finish. Even including the staring part and thinking about how I wanted to set it up. Thanks again. A girl can use all the advise she can get. TFL

Typically I do my cost times 3, sometimes this requires adjusting like adding a time of work fee etc. Good luck, beautiful job.

Beautiful Terry! I would say $25 would be about right.

I would also charge about $25! It is beautiful!
