Okay, I give up, WHAT happened to the "Card Contest" thread...

I saved the details for myself but wanted to "bump" it to the top because I think it is for such a good cause (cards going to troops). Did it get pulled for some reason or am I just missing it?

I happen to know that it was removed because I was told that SCS does not allow contests and drawings in the forums.

Well I guess rules are rules...sad though, I thought it was for a very good cause plus a little added fun for the contest :(

I was the one who posted the contest.

I got a message from a moderator that said contests (of ANY kind) aren't allowed here on SCS anymore and I was instructed to remove my sig line and they immediately deleted my thread. I wish they would have just locked the thread and explained to everyone what was going on. I feel terrible! I had no idea this was the new rule. If anyone has already sent a card, I will return it along with the cash.

I'm very disappointed -- this was always such a fun contest :(

I'm disappointed,too. It sounded like fun and was for such a good cause.

I'm sorry that happened Jennifer; I hadn't heard that this was no longer allowed; although we can't do this, we should keep in mind that there are a few threads with people collecting cards for the troops, either for the troops themselves or blank all occasion cards for them to use for sending home. My goal for World Card Making Day is still to make cards for this purpose!

While we understand your disappointment, in fairness to all, we can no longer allow these types of threads which promote contests, cash prizes, etc. As our SCS membership has grown from a familiar community of stamping friends, into a busy, bustling website of many thousands, we strive daily to keep the forums as fair to all as possible. In that light, we have removed other contest/prize threads as they have recently appeared.

Thank you for your continued support of and participation here at SCS. We appreciate your understanding as we strive to keep everything as well organized and as fair as possible to all members.
