Default Spectrum Pad Help

I have a leaf set and have tried stamping it using the spectrum pad. The image comes out with definite lines of color. Any tips on getting a more smooth gradation between the colors? Should I use a brayer? Thanks!

Good question, I'd like to know the answer to this problem too.

I had the same problem, so I just slightly moved or twisted the stamp while on the stamp pad, not alot so that I wouldn't muddy the colors too much. It definitely got rid of the line that was there, and looked nicely blended when stamped on the cs. HTH!

I would use a brayer. If you twist the stamp on the pad, would not also be mixing the colours on your spectrum pad?

Tap it a few times, moving a bit each direction each time you tap (but not tooooo much!). That way you'll blend the colors at the line and the lines won't be so disctinct. I use my Kaleidacolor pads a lot and just love the results!!!! :-)

I, too, have had success by moving my stamp ever so slightly while it is still on the spectrum pad. Don't lift the stamp up as you move it. It works.

Where did I learn this? Here on Splitcoast, of course!

Just checking to see if you have the pads pushed together when inking the stamp?

If you use the brayer, have the pads separated, ink the brayer, brayer over the stamp, moving it a bit to the left/right each time.

Hope this helps.
