Default paint can paper

what do u do to cover up where the paper is not big enough for the paint can.... i have noticed that even with the quart size the 12x 12 is not large enough to cover...so what do u do to remedy this? am making my first paint can for a wedding this weekend, and want it to look good...

I use two sheets of 8 1/2" x 11" and cut them down to fit the height of the can. Then I put 3-4 eyelets down the seam on each side to make it look like the seams are meant to be there. You could also use decorative scissors to cut down the seams and add the eyelets. Maybe even layer the seams with an additional color of cardstock to make it stand out.

Default paint cans

Here's what I did for the quart size cans: I took a sheet of 8 1/2 X 11 cardstock and wrapped it around as far as it would go, then I took another sheet and used it as a mat for the poem (printed on my computer). I trimmed the "mat" around the poem, but made sure it covered the edges of the other sheet of cardstock on the can.

I put the paper as far around as it would go then used the eyelets to line both sides and used a pretty ribbon and laced it up and placed tissue or some other type of paper under the lace to make it appear like it was being held there.

I made my first two cans last week! They were the 4 litre ones (a gallon to you south of the border :-)

I used the 12 x 12 scrapbook paper and cut it off at the handle part, making the cuts to go around it. I had to match the plaids, but wasn't too bad. Like wallpapering a room!

Default Another option

I used 3 different colors and tore them into little pieces and "pieced" the outside. Covered the whole thing with modge podge to get an even finish. Looked neat and no seam.

I love the idea of tearing and decoupaging the pieces; that's awesome! Love that and may have to copy it! ;)
