Way Cool Video on Origami box with scallops, etc.
I'm somewhat hesitant about posting this thread, especially in view of the thread by JulieHRR about posting links to blogs for instructions and recipes. But, nothing is being sold at this link, no horns being blown by me about me, so here goes. Tracy Down Under, a/k/a kijaky on SCS, has a blog with a couple videos of how to do a particular thing. If you have five minutes, the video for today is short and shows Tracy making a mind-blowing origami box with a lid. She includes recipes (she uses Au Chocolat which is retired in US , sniff!) and a musical soundtrack. Watching her do a scalloped edge around the box lid was awesome!. This is the first time I've actually seen it done! I know there's probably other videos out there on how to do this, but I love this one!
Au Chocolat Box Video
I had to click twice on the play button. Also, if you come late to this thread, this video is the one she posted on January 4, 2008.

That is a super cool box and great video. Gee, I wish I could cut/punch/tape that fast, hehe. Did anyone else have trouble printing the instructions below the video. My printer will only print half of the instructions!!!
Thanks Kathy for showing us the video.

Hey Miss Kathy!
I wondered why my little video was played so many times since I loaded it up last night! Now I know why
I will attach a .pdf of the basic instructions here so you can see the dimensions. I don't know how to put .pdf files on my blog otherwise I would have done it that way! Just remember I'm an Aussie so all the measurements are in metric and the .pdf file is A4 size, not letter size.
Thanks so much for checking out my little blog!
hugs
Tracy

Kathy, ty for posting this link to this wonderful blog. I refer to Tracy's blog quite frequently for instructions and this box, moves her blog to the very top of my daily blog list. TFS your talent with all of us, Tracy.

New Video!
Tracy has done another video, already, on how she watercolors using the inks in her SU pads. Such a cute little Bee stamp and such a great visual on how she colored him. This video is better than the last which is better than the last before it! Can only get better and better!

What a talented girl. Tracy you are grrreat. Love the videos. And love the aluminium foil idea in your Christmas card, how fun is that, running the foil thru the cuttlebug. Marvelous. Can't wait til the next video.

Hey Patti
To convert cm to inches you times by 2.54
1 inch = 2.54 cm
anyways, as I said on my little blog, I got the box instructions from Laurie Schmidlin's blog and I converted them to cm because I am a bit challenged when it comes to inches!
the link to her blog with the inches measurements is
Just Give Me Stamps...

This is too funny. I've watched the video on the box several times tonight because I originally got on the link to watch the watercoloring from another Splitcoast thread. After watching the watercoloring, I saw the BOX and loved it. And I have the chocolat designer paper! Then I was going back to look for the original thread and saw this one.

SCS welcomes and encourages this kind of sharing!
Sidebar, for those that may not be aware of the thread you referenced.
SCS has been experiencing an increasing surge of "self-promotional" type language within forum posts, signature lines and gallery uploads ( even since my plea was originally launched) . . . In other words, forum announcements or threads, or gallery postings, specifically intended to increase exposure, or direct traffic to one's own site, which may or may not be profit/non-profit status, or to an affiliate, which is, in most cases, of profit status.
The motivation behind such forum, signature language or gallery postings is different than being merely informational and for the benefit of the community itself, and due to this, we ask that all our members please be conscientious; if increased exposure or traffic is desired, regardless of profit/non-profit status, the SCS Advertising Program is the most appropriate vehicle for that.
Hope that makes sense.
