Watercolor Crayons
 

I've been away for a few days, so forgive me if this has already been discussed. I just saw the list of retiring accessories. I was very surprised to see the watercolor crayons.
Now, I don't own them, but I have read nothing but wonderful things about them on SCS, so I wondered what is going on.
Are they coming out with a new formula that doesn't break as easily? Are they breaking them into color family sets of 12, instead of 48 all together? I can't believe they are totally getting rid of them.

Your suspicion is correct. They are putting them in color families of 12 and then they are adding a family of neutrals. :)

I'm not sure why, but things often seem to happen that way. When SU first started to sell eyelets they came in huge lots and you practically had to take out a loan to get any, and you had more then you could ever use in a lifetime. Then they split them up into smaller portions and made them more affordable. I'm sure it has something to do with their suppliers and the laws of supply and demand and all that nonsense, but I'm just glad they're splitting them up now. :)

Rumored the the groups will cost much more.

On the "SU Catalogs are coming Early?" thread it said that the CANADIAN dollar price was 28.95 for the color groups, and 13.95 for the neutrals (must be a set of 6). Based on the conversions on other items (in other words, a WAG!) I would GUESS at 17.95 for each color group and 8.95 for the neutrals in AMERICAN dollars.

That is a bit more than buying them in one set...but I would expect it to be that way because of packaging.

Now, since I GUESSED, you can be pleasantly surprised if they are less! Maybe I will go back and ASK for the American dollar price!
