Oh, I signed up and then just realized that I gave SU an awful lot of info about myself that I wish I hadn't. Not a slam against SU, just against me for not thinking before hitting the enter button. You have to give your income AND classify yourself as beginner, intermediate, or advanced stamper!!!! I mean the income is iffy, but having to characterize my stamping was painful!! LOL

Default Research Panel Scam!

I called SU! about a letter I also received (like many bloggers and demos with websites did today) and this is a total scam... do not click on any of the links or give them your personal information! Instead; if you receive the email you can forward it to [email protected] This is the email....

Hi Sarah—

My name is Justin Ethington and I work for a market research firm with Stampin’ Up! as a client. As a service to your readers I wanted to let you know that Stampin’ Up! is currently looking for 450 stampers who are willing to participate on a market research panel on stamping and crafts. Stampin’ Up! mails panelists a free goodie box every three months in exchange for their opinions.

If you think your readers would be interested in applying to be on this panel, please let them know they can sign up at REMOVED We’d like to have all our panelists selected in the next few weeks.

Below is more information about the panel. If you would like to confirm that this is an official Stampin’ Up! program feel free to call me or Dhyani Gardner at Stampin’ Up! (but please don’t publish our names or contact information). You can reach her through the Stampin’ Up! corporate office number at REMOVED (not the corp # for SU!). My contact information is below.

More information for your readers:
--Stampin’ Up! uses your feedback for research only and does not share your answers or personal information with anyone else.
--Panel members can expect to serve on the panel for three to nine months.
--There is no cost for you to join.
--Your only duty as a panel member is to answer a short survey every one or two weeks.
--You will never be asked to purchase anything to participate in the panel.
--Daily operation of the panel is managed by Volt Marketing, an independent research agency.
--You can quit the panel at any time.
--We are looking for 450 panel members. You will be selected to join if your background matches our research needs.

We are now accepting a limited number of new panelists. You can apply for a panel position by visiting REMOVED

Best,
Justin

It is NOT a scam... I talked to the guy personally from the marketing firm and was given THE person to talk to from SU! corporate office to confirm. He asked me NOT to give out those phone number to SU! but if you'd like to call Staramaze, I'd be happy to give you the number and the contact person at SU! Most likely, DS is not aware of this program.

I got the same email you did and decided not to call the number listed but to call SU! directly with the number I have and know and confirm the information in the email.

I am so sorry but I called SU and gave them the URL above... they spoke to IT/complience while I held and said that the Contact information was bogus and the emloyee listed on the email was not an SU! emloyee and that they never use independent research firms because they have thier own firm.

Just going by what I have been told by Stampin' Up! What else can I say! This isn't your fault Cambria! The email and the website looks very legitamate.... did anyone who doesn't have a blog/website get this email???

Crud. I used DH's info for it. No CC #s or anything, just email, home address and phone number.

Melissa,
If Cami talked to someone at SU! I believe her that it is not a scam. I was trying to figure out what they could obtain by the info they asked for, not anything different than your basic survey from just about anywhere or anything, at the onset anyway.

But they listed a number for us to call... not SU!'s official number listed on their website... just because they answer the phone "stampin' Up!" doesn't mean it is Stampin' Up!

I feel bad; but I am standing my ground here... I have to got with what 1-800-stamp-up tells me!

Yes.. I spoke the guy that sent me the email from Volt Marketing, and I called the number he provided to me for corporate office. I got the SU! corporate recording that they were closed and to call back Monday. All the numbers were legit.... and he told me personally that it is not a hoax. If it is a hoax, the survery is certainly set up to look very professional.
