I wanna play! but i have to figure out how to get stuff online first. that may take me a while, since i have to do this stuff at work right now. my email is not available to me at home right now.
is it fair to give comments without having my own stuff out there?

Bumping this thread
Although while I'm here....I made this card last night and this is my third attempt at it....any suggestions? I'm really stumped on this card.
I was thinking of maybe making some of the flowers blue (which I did before, but the blue was too blue).

I'll check yours, Patty! I have a doozy in my gallery if anyone wants to check it out! Sometimes you need to rein in your muse to get her back on track!

I hope you don't mind me barging in on y'all's thread....
Patty, I think what is missing on this card is a focal point....a card like this is perfect for the sentiment as the focal point! What if you left the background as still embossed but not colored, and then embossed and colored one of the flowers and cut around it (either oval or rectangle) and mounted it in the pink. Just some ideas to maybe get you started. It a great start, that is for sure!

Oh...thank you so much for your help. I was thinking about just leaving the embossing white and then adding some flowers for a focal point, but I couldn't figure out what stamp set would have flowers that matched pretty close.
Okay...I'm going to give it another try when my son takes his afternoon nap. I'll post my new card for you to see.
And a big thank you to everyone else for your suggestions.

First, I LOVE the embossed panel. I agree that it is missing a focal point. I would take off the ribbon that you have and leave that plain white edge bare. I would find a much wider ribbon and tie it more around the middle of the embossed panel, with the know slightly offset and then add a pretty flower - white with a gem brad.

My New Card
Well ladies...thank you so much for all of your advice. Here is the card that I just made in hopes of trying to make this one better. What do you think now? I'm still not sure about this one, but I think it's better than my last card.
I'm editing my post to add another picture of the card I am trying to make. I'm thinking I like this card the best...any suggestions?

YES!! You nailed it!! It looks wonderful and now has a great focal image. I have the same embossing folder and I think that it is difficult to use by itself (which is strange since it has such a large image)....Love the bling in the middle of the flower too!

Looks like not much has been happening with this thread. I will go to star's gallery now and leave a comment. Next person can go to my gallery. If we each visit the person's gallery just ahead of us in this thread, it should keep moving.

Love that card, Patty! Left a comment. I think it's pretty though I don't care for the cutout image.
Have fun at convention!

thanks gals. I decided that the vellum thing just didn't translate to a "masculine" card. I bagged it and am starting over. I really don't feel very good today so maybe tomorrow or Wednesday.
