Default Kingdom's LW100 cassette rack re-design.

I am in the final re-design phase of this popular stamp storage/cassette rack.

The poll will help make it function even better!

......If I screw it up, someone will hurt me.

Thanks,
Dave from Kingdom Inc.

I like the idea of increasing the size of the shelf. Also, I would like to have a white finish option.

Just my sarcasim coming out. Wanted to make it a six question poll and only had five decent questions... been a long day on the east coast waiting for the weekend... brain has shut down... it was dragged out of bed at 4AM.

David,

That's nice of you to ask us for advice! I am assuming this shelf fits SU ink pads perfectly, right?

You can easily get rid of your "glitter queen" status, just keep posting more comments!

Thumbs up

I love the price. I don't think I would make any changes to the product. It would probally end up costing more. I have our old cassette tape holder but it only holds 36 cassettes ( ink pads) it works great and I have been looking for a larger one. Thanks so much for the link!

I've been looking at this for a few weeks now trying to decide if I want to get one. Now you're talking about redesigning? I guess I'll wait until that point...unless it's a year off!

And, ummm, no, I like the price just the way it is!

The re-design will take two to three months to fully implement. The differences to the rack will mainly be cosmetic... changing how we do the corners and the way we attach the back, etc. What I don't want to do is make the "new" racks unusuable for holding the stamps. By asking the other questions, why not make a great product even better.

Kimmie, we did one in blue (as an April fools joke) and it looks pretty tacky!! Having the wood show, whether unfinished, clear, or walnut stain, prooves it's real wood. I will try one in white... we'll name it Kimmie's Kolor. LOL

My suggestion is one that isn't an option on the poll. I purchased one of these about three or four years ago, and my beef is that not all of my pads fit into it. If the spaces were enlarged slightly (like about 1/16") then I could fit my Stazon, Encore, Fabrico, and Versamark pads into it. I know this would change the dimensions so might not be feasible, but just my .02

Thanks for asking!! I love mine even though it's not "perfect" and have recommended your site to several others.

Ok... I finally broke down & bought one! Now its going to be redesigned! GRRRRR...

Anyway, I absolutely love mine. If you don't have one, you MUST get one!!! They are AWESOME for the price. I did vote. I would have liked the shelves to be a little deeper. They'll fit the ink pads better.

As for not fitting the other pads, I've got ALL of my StazOn & Versa in my holder. I even have my glue sticks in there...

Trish,
What are the exact measurements on your rack spaces? 3/4" x 4-3/8"?

OMGosh, I have been looking at all the supply stores, WalMart, Target etc. for something just like this to hold my SU ink pads without spending an arm and a leg. Of course, I found nothing. All they carry are CD organizers and my ink pads won't fit into those. I would like to know for sure that the slots are big enough to hold the VersaMark, Stazon etc. I guess I can wait for a couple more months after you finish re-designing to place an order. Yippee for me!!!

Below is a quote from Dave that was on another thread a while back. Dave gives the dimensions of the rack. Hope it helps
I just ordered one of these because sooooo many people just love it. I couldn't beat the price. Now if you go and make it a ton better I am going to be really mad. ;)

"The approximate inside dimensions for each compartment is 4-5/16" wide by 3/4" high. Each "ledge" is 1-5/8" deep. Approximate outside measurments are 24-3/16" wide by 18-11/16" tall by 2-1/2" thick. If desired the inserts can be removed as needed for a custom fit.

Aaack! I just got mine last night! I didn't know about the changes to be made. I voted for deeper and smoother shelves. Oh well....I did save on shipping.....a friend works there. I think I'm gonna really like it, though.

Yes, those are the dimensions. The problem I have is that the pads I mentioned have a raised area on the lids (so that they could all stack neatly together), and are just a smidgen too big for the 3/4" space. I've improvised by "cramming" one into the bottom, where there seems to be the most space, and then sort of stacking my additional pads sideways on that. You can see that in the lower right conrner. The Stazon pads are fine if there are only a few, but don't fit when you have a whole row of them. I can only do 2, then skip a space and do 2 more...

I'm attaching a pic of my rack. There's a lot of open space right now as my downline borrowed nearly all my Stazon pads for a workshop, but here 'tis. (And yes, those really are cassettes on the far left row )

These really are phenomenal for storing pads, and you can't beat the price.

The changes will be mainly cosmetic on the LW100... time for a "face lift". The poll is reveiling what I thought: make the shelves deeper. Making the shelf spacing taller would be a different issue and would raise the cost. Not good.
For the larger pads, try our LW150.

Thank you for the photo... it's nice to see both tapes and pads in it!

Thanks for asking our opinion David... I'm feeling special.

I know this sounds bad, but I ever recommend these to my customers! (Ok, I only have 1 customer right now, but still).

If you want to make the spaces taller, here's how:
*Remove everything from the rack.
*Pull out the four vertical dividers.
*If you "bow" the shelves up or down, they will pop out. Have a drink ready.
*Carefully slide the dividers back in. Have another drink ready.

This reduces the spaces but allows items to be stacked if needed.

I stamp/ scrap in my basement and can't attach anything to the walls. I don't know how snugly the pads fit in, but is there anything that will allow me to make the unit freestanding? A base support of sometype?

I have the same question as Sandi above. There is no way my husband would let me attach one of the to the wall, is there a way to make it free standing? Or could you possibly design a separate purchase to make it so? Thank you so much for asking everyones opinion!!!

Thumbs up i've got

one of these cassette holders, and mine only cost $2.00. I found it at a resale shop.
I did do some remolding with it. Cause I'm using it to store my bolts of ribbon in and a few odds and ends.

If you look in my gallery photo's should find mine. Plus I've added one here

Sandi and Tonya, they normally will stand on their own. However, when a case, stamp, pad, etc. hangs out it could make it tippy. Simply purchase a wide pine board (say 3/4" thick x 7 1/4" wide x 24" long) from any home center and screw it to the bottom. It will act as a base.
Nancy, your rack looks like an old Napa Valley(r) rack which are no longer in production. Great thinking on removing the inserts!

The one I have is not mounted as of yet.. It stands great on its own. In order to 'reduce' the shakiness, I put my inks starting at the bottom. This way it doesn't get top heavy.

davidh-
I have one and I love it. I do wish the shelves were deeper. If you make the change I will definately buy another one.

Also, thanks for the idea about the base. Mine was alittle tippy.

David - thanks for the opportunity to provide input. I've been shopping for something to hold my ink pads and had settled on your unit -- just hadn't placed an order yet.

I think it's wonderful that you would even consider a stamper's use since the product is obviously meant for other things (like cassette tapes ).

Personally, I would like a unit just a bit smaller. I'm collecting all 48 colors of SU! ink, and have a handful of other colors, but I'm thinking a 100 capacity case may have way to many empty slots (which would just encourage me to buy more!). Any chance you'll make something with only 60-80 slots?

Thanks again!

Well, the price difference would be so close I don't think it would make sense (or sell). But... here's what you could do: get the 100 rack and take out some of the inserts. You can use the larger spaces for other things and it will still look full! Make sure you save the inserts.

Dave.

I just got my holder yesterday. I also do not need all those slots for ink pads, not yet anyway. ;) So I took out some of the shelves (which was very easy) and my medium and small punches from SU fit in there great. Also my embossing powders, wire, and ink refills. Still plenty of more room for other things. I just love having everything right there in the shelf. I also put a hook on the side to hold my heat gun. The shelf looks so nice hanging on my wall.
