Default Question on polished stone

I've been looking at all the links and stuff and it's very confusing. Some use alcohol inks, some use Metallic leafing pens, some mention metallic ink reinkers! What do I need to do this gorgeous technique? I have the Bold Brights reinkers, but I don't have a metallic ink refill. Which one do you think I should get??

Any help would be much appreciated!

Susan

I didn't have any metallics either but was anxious to try the technique. I posted a card yesterday with links to direction but as you'll see ,I ended up doing something a little different. I use SU! reinkers. Some ladies even use a metallic pen but I don't know what brand. Have fun and be patient. It took me a few trys before I figured it out.Email me if you have any more questions about my post.

I have done it woth no metallic reinker, just regualr reinkers and it worked just fine.

If you deiced to use metallic reinkers-they will smudge. To combat that, after doing the polished stone part, I used embossing powder and embossed-it added a bit of dimension to the bg, and sealed in the pigment ink so that it did not smear. Here is one I never uploaded (at least I couldn't find it in my gallery) that was embossed over the metallic reinker.

Default polished stone

There are different ways to do polished stone. I use metallic reinkers that I get from stampin' up. I pour rubbing alcohol on a plate. I put a cotton ball on a clothes pin and soak it in the rubbing alcohol. Then I turn it over and rub a little metallic ink on it. Then I put a drop or two of 2 or 3 different colors around the metallic ink. Then just turn it over and sponge it on glossy paper. You can use the same cotton ball on a few pages. It will lighten and give a different look. Then when the paper is dry I spray it with hair spray or a matte finish spray from Krylon. This will keep it from smudging. I hope this helps and you can make sense of it.
