I posted this a while back...I read it in Rubber Stamping Madness.
The procedure they recommended is as follows and applies to unmounted stamps:
1) Wash stamps in warm, soapy water, using a toothbrush to clean areas that might need a little more attention.
2) Put stamps in a pyrex dish and cover with mineral oil. Cover dish with plastic wrap and and let stamps soak for 2-3 days. When you're done you can pour the oil back in the container for future use on stamps.
3) Rewash stamps in warm, soapy water.
If the stamps are mounted, they recommend putting the stamps in a dish with the oil only deep enough the submerge just the rubber, not the foam or the wood.
