Getting ready to have a yard sale. I'm thinking most of the stuff will go in it. But I'm not sure if I want to put the Stampin Up stamp sets in as well or try to sell them on here.
If I do sell it on here, do I go to the post office before hand and get a bunch of shipping boxes? Or get some at Walmart? Or do I wait to see if one person buys a bunch of stuff and then I can stuff it all in one box? Should I just pick up a bunch of those padded envelopes?
All of the stamp sets (except maybe 1-2) or the cling sets in the dvd cases. I have about 30-35 sets (with all of them being new except 6 sets) Some are mounted, some unmounted.
what's your easiest way to sell/ship sets?

When Beate and a few others sold a lot pf things here they only used USPS Flat Rate boxes . The Post Office Priority Mail charges by weight, box size and distance to ship. You could let yourself get crazy trying to figure out the shipping on each order.
Plus even if you weight and look each box up you can ended up quoting the wrong price.
I did that on some paper I sold. The PO site said it would be $6.95 to ship but when I got to the Post Office it was $12.15 because I did not have the correct Zip Code when I checked it .
I only asked $12 for the paper with shipping so I got nothing for the paper and it cost me 15 more than I charged to ship it .
I did not tell the buyer because it was not her fault. It was mine
Trust me use Flat Rate boxes LOL

My experience with yard sales around here is that people basically want you to give it to them. Personally if I were going to sell up I would try here and go with flat rate, because I feel that most people here would be fair and love the product.
If I am going to give it away I won't do a yard sale. I will donate to either a school or art therapy program (senior citizens, cancer groups, church groups, scouts, schools...)
I only do garage sales if they're affiliated with a scrapbook or stamp store. RiverIsis is right that you don't get great prices, but at least it results in a store credit. Otherwise, I'd try here, or somewhere else online. Because I'm in Canada there's a FB group for my town I tend to use.
Thanks for the responses. You're right, since most of this stuff I'm selling is brand new, I don't want to give it away. She does have a lot of stuff (odd & ends) that aren't Stampin Up, so I have priced the stuff for the yard sale with "yard sale prices".
I used to sell on ebay a lot back in the day, so it seemed I was always at the post office. I don't believe they had flat rate boxes back then or if they did, I had no clue about them. I always got a priority box, filled it up with whatever I sold, brought it down to the PO to get it weighed, got a quote, went back to the buyer and then told them what the shipping would be. It got to be a hassle. So I stopped selling quite a while ago. I do remember the priority boxes being free to take as many as you needed. Is it the same with the flat rate boxes? Are there different sizes? So if I go down to the PO, they should have them out front and I can take a few or is there a price on them?

There are small, medium and large flat rate boxes. The medium definitely has two different shapes, one being more square and the other being more rectangular. They are free to take. If I am not sure which one works I will take several in each size and then bring them back when I ship. This might help Postage Price Calculator Just tell people you will put it in a flat rate box and use the smallest (cheapest) one that will fit the item(s).
If you have a lot of items and will be doing multiple mailings, you can order the supplies in bulk and they should get to you in 7 -10 days https://store.usps.com/store/browse/...tegoryProducts I'm sure your local post office will be happy to have your extras if you have any left over.
Have you thought of advertising on Craigslist? I bought $60 of Stampin Up stamps and paper from a lady who advertised there. She had the items on her dining room table and family was present "for protection." She set the hours of the sale. She told me she was wary of selling that way, but thought that stampers were a pretty safe group. She had things priced comparably to ones I bought on Ebay. I liked it because I could see the items and quality.

If your local library has a meeting room this could be a good "meeting" alternative. I know it means you have to haul it all out but TBH with the state of my craft area most of the time it would be less hassle.
Otherwise please be very careful with inviting anyone into your home.
Has anyone ever tried selling books or clothing on Amazon? We have LOTS of books I need to unload, and lots of clothes in good condition (mostly my teenaged son's). I want to try to sell before giving it away. We ned every penny we can get.

Thanks. I'll have to see if I can swing by the local PO this week. The one closest to me has some weird hours. I was wondering if you or anyone can tell me how many Stampin Up DVD cases fit in each box (roughly)?
