I am a brand new stamper. Today I decided to try out some new photopolymer stamps and my new Misti. I rubbed the stamps to remove the film. The first one was a larger stamp, but not a background image. It is about 3x5 inches of Christmas ornaments. No matter what I do, there is a blank spot in the middle of my stamped image. I rubbed the stamp with my fingers again, went over it with a white eraser, washed and dried it, and tried again. I am using Memento Tuxedo Black and a Misti. I seem to have to press so hard to get an image and trying to get that stamp to stamp completely. I tried all different areas of the Misti. I tried different shims in the Misti behind the mousepad, I am using a smooth cardstock. When I see people on You Tube they don't seem to press hard at all. This is happening with all of the stamps except the small ones, so I know it is something I am doing wrong. Is there a learning curve with the Misti? I can't seem to get the centre of the image to stamp at all on a couple of them. Any suggestions/help appreciated! Thank you!
What brand of stamps are you using? Sometimes, a stamp is not level. Some stamps just need more pressure. I use the MISTI all of the time and there are times I am really pressing on my image in the center. Sometimes a bubble of air can get under the stamp and then you will not get a full image. I do not use an eraser, like I see some people use. I typically clean my stamp with water before stamping and it removes the residue.
Your stamp sounds large. They often take a bit of pressure in the center. I wish I could see what you are getting. You need more posts to show a photo. The easy way to get more posts is to go the gallery and comment on cards. Your number will raise and then you will have enough posts to show a photo of what is happening with your stamp.
You might need to use a “pressing tool” over the top of your MISTI door. I have used a brayer (roll it), a dry erase board eraser (felt side down), or a hockey puck style push tool with felt on the bottom. Others have made their own pressure tools using old wood blocks. Anything to help you “push” in the center of the Misti lid might be useful.
I find this happens more with lesser quality stamps such as those that are called clear, acrylic, and silicone. I have also had it happen with photopolymer and can be frustrating. When particular placement isn't an issue, i. e. if you were going to stamp something and die cut or fussy cut the image, maybe using a stamping block, inking the stamp up, and placing the cardstock on the stamp so you could push the cardstock into any recessed area that might be on the stamp.

Do you see any blank spots on the stamp when you ink it? Try just tapping the ink pad lightly on the stamp and see if there’s any low spots that aren’t picking up the ink. Sometimes stamps are flawed.

Welcome to SCS!
They are Pinkfresh Studio. I wouldnt be able to submit a photo anyway as they are for an upcoming workshop/event. I think my stamp pad was a little dry. I tried again today with a brand new coloured ink pad and much better. They are sending me replacements for those two though as no matter what I do the centre will not stamp. Thank you for your advice and information on how to raise your number!
Lori, glad you are getting the help you need. This is a good company. I see their product and love it. I have never purchased any, but maybe one day. Glad it went better today.
Just a thought: do you have your foam liner in your MISTI?
I've had trouble with one Pinkfresh set: Perfect Sentiments. TWO replacements later, I still wasn't getting a satisfactory image. I had to cut the sentiments apart in order to use them.

I agree with lovinpaper - oftentimes, if I experience this issue after repeated attempts, it's due to some issue on the surface of the stamp itself.
Keep in mind, you -can- damage your own stamps by storing them in such a way that they're subjected to constant pressure. I've unfortunately "dented" stamps in the past because of this, and now take GREAT care in how tightly I store them and how I transport them for stamping outside of our home.

Also, sometimes this can happen if you are positioning your stamp too close to either edge of your Misti, especially the hinge side. I have both the Misti and the SU Stamparatus and it happens on both of them. You could try moving your cardstock out from the corner.

My guess is that there's a problem in the manufacturing of the stamp, leaving a dip in the stamp that simply doesn't reach the paper. In desperation, I have inked a stamp like this and layed the paper on it and pressed the paper down in the dip area.
perhaps it is the Misti, have you tried other larger stamps? The Misti I own does the same thing, the stamp works fine if they are on a block or a different stamping platform. I rarely use the Misti now, it was a gift, purchased a month or so after hitting the market. It works fine with smaller stamps depending on where I put them, but I have 0 issues with the other company's platform.
