Default Up to $405.00

This may be in one of the threads, if it is then this is old news. The person on Ebay with the expensive 2 page spread layouts, well her latest one is up to $405.00 with 2 days to go. I wonder if this one will go around the $700.00 mark. Wish I had tha kind of money, but, I am so serious when I say if I did have that much money, I really don't think I would spend it on a 2 page layout. Would any of you spend that much?

That's just crazy. Who would have that kind of money for scrapbook layouts?

My guess is celebrities or people who have that kind of money to throw around...in other words, not me. Personally, I'd much rather make my own pages so that one day my kids can say, "My Mom made this just for me."

Just think all the supplies you could buy with $700! I wonder who is bidding on those pages.

I think her work is art, and so do the bidders. I am sure who ever wins will not put this layout in an album. I am sure that they will frame it, I would.

If it is the one I am thinking about - I agree that it is probably going as 'art', because if I was lucky enough to get one, I would have it proudly framed and displayed on my wall. I say congrats to her for making such a name for herself.

Thank you momofoneson for posting the link. I couldn't find the listing on ebay. While it is a beautiful piece of art, I can't imagine spending that kind of $$ on it.

Default my opinion

I think the page is beautiful but, the ladies on here are just as talented. I personally would love to receive some of the cards on here for a RAK than spend $400.00 for a page to frame.
Just my opinion

The only thing I can think of is how it gave me some great ideas to use for my scrapbooking. I can honestly say I'd never spend $400 on two pages that someone else did...can you imagine the profit that lady is making on those two pages??? Yes, maybe the materials cost 50 bucks. But still!!! To make $350 off that...even if she worked 7 hours on those two pages, that comes out to $50/hour. That's a hell of a lot better than I get paid per hour!!!

Her pages are incredible and very creative. And, I find her patience and really humble responses to all of those "how to" questions really amazing! I wish her well...how nice to have one's work really appreciated $$ wise!

I looked under bidding history... Looks very fishy to me. They are all called bidder # (1-12) .... same name and then a different number. Are they real people?

That is sooo incredible. She is a true artist. All of her own drawing and painting, etc. Had to take days of meticulous work AFTER she had worked out her design. I can see where there are plenty of people with not a drop of artistic creativity and plenty of money paying that much money for such a treasure. 'Wish I could do that well......

I wondered about that too, then I saw this on Ebay

"To help keep the eBay community safe, enhance bidder privacy, and protect our members from fraudulent emails (such as fake second chance offers), eBay has changed how bid history information is displayed. If you place a bid on a higher-priced item, only you and the seller of the item can view your User ID in the bid history. Other members can no longer view User IDs and will see anonymous names, such as Bidder 1."

They are real bidders. The last one I checked feedback, she left positive feedback for the buyer who obviously paid the 760.00 or whatever dollars.

I don't think they are celebrities. I think there are lot more people out there with the disposable income to bid on just "stuff" that the rest of us either make or do without--You should see what my mother spends on her doll collection!

Kind of amazing, isn't it?

And yes, the layouts are really pretty and very creative. I think it's great that someone is making good money for hours of work!

I never thought of people putting the pages in a frame and hanging it on the wall. I know I wouldn't want to keep it in a closed book. Again, I didn't think outside the box, and that is why my pages don't look like her's, LOL!! She has talent and OMG a lot of patience.

I just had a look at the pages you're referring to on eBay. Stunning! Amazing! Incredible artwork! Her passion is very evident! I can see how people are willing to pay alot of $$ and if they can afford it, why not?! Absolutely amazing work!

BTW - someone on eBay asked - apparantly it takes her a couple of weeks to design and finish one product. Amazing!

I was reading her comments at the bottom...she has been able to quit her job and design these pages as her FT job.

I think it's awesome that she answers people's questions about how to do it and where to get the products.

AMAZING work...

*boggle*
The pages ARE beautiful! Just gorgeous. But... $400 worth of gorgeous...for two scrapbook pages? Man! Kudos to the seller/creator for making such an great product, but I almost want to contact the buyers and say, "You do realize this is for a child's scrapbook...right?"

I guess it's no different than buying a nice art piece. *shrugs*

Like I said before, I very much doubt it will go in a scrapbook. Most likely it will be framed with the child's pictures.

I agree that her work is fantastic. Too busy for me personally but still gorgeous! Lots of people have money to burn I think. I have a friend that was selling old photo's on Ebay that she bought in an estate sale. She sold $800+ to one bidder. Would you pay that for pictures of strangers? I wouldn't. But apparently that is their passion and they have the bucks to do it! My friends and relatives think I am nuts because of the money I have invested in my stamping stuff! (I KNOW I am, and I'm PROUD of it!LOL!)

The last 3 of her layouts went for over $150. (Including the $760 one) She does do gorgeous work and I wish I was that talented. Then I won't have to hear DH complain when I buy more stuff... LOL

Would I pay that much for a layout? No. Do I think this women does amazing work and is seriously talented? Yes. I also think that I should try to get into this niche! I say good for her for finding a way to make her talent pay her bills!
