Unmounting wheels?
Hello stampers and scrappers!!!
I have a few wheels, probably about 30 or so. I recently purchased a retired set that came with the wheel. When I got it today, the rubber was off of the wheel !!! I am amazed!!! I am extremely wheel challenges and love this thought
So I decides to unmount one myself and am so in love with it.
Has anyone else done this, of course besides the store who sold it to me
Your thoughts?

Yes, I never use the wheels anymore. I have an acrylic ruler I stick them to for stamping. I am thinking about cutting some apart.

I carefully cut along the line where the beginning and the end meet with an Exacto blade. Carefully peel it off wheel and add to black thin ex mount. Then cut flattened wheel out again and did any clean up after that.

I unmounted all of mine and love it. They take up so much less room. I didn't remount them, I just took them to bare rubber for now. I also did that with my background stamps too. I lay then down on the desk and put the paper on top anyways so I didn't figure I needed to have them mounted.

I unmounted the couple I had and left them bare rubber with Aileen's TIO&O. I've used my cuddlebug plates when I wanted to stamp with them. I also took one wheel (which I had two of the same) and cut it apart. I got 13 stamps (I think... maybe it was 15) individual stamps from it.

I tried one and loved it, so am in the process of doing it to the rest. I would love to find a block that is the perfect size for them though.
If anyone knows of one, link it up!

I've unmounted all my wheels. I then mounted them on EZ mount and I love it. I have a long grid block by inkadinkado that I use for the longer stamps.

The idea of unmounting wheels sounds brilliant! I think I will have to try that.

Gina K has 3 large blocks that would work depending on the width of your stamps. They are 2x8, 2.5x8, and 5x7.

I've unmounted all of mine and cut several of them apart. Often I will order two of the same wheel and cut one apart and leave the other intact. I was EXTREMELY wheel-challenged (even with a guide), so that was my original motivation. I wouldn't have purchased so many others if I hadn't known how handy the unmounted ones are! Great value, too! Mine are bare rubber (with Sailor 2-in-1 glue on the back) and I use a long acrylic block from my CTMH consultant days...
