My loving fiancee and I are having a little friendly argument about which yellow to use for our wedding invitations. I am making a white gatefold card with a yellow mat, then a gerbera daisy (TAC) stamped on another white piece. Clean and simple. Daisies are our theme, as it is.
The problem we are having is deciding what color of yellow we want to use. I have enough of Summer sun, So Saffron, Barely Banana, and Yo Yo Yellow to do these mats.
What colour would you all use for a summer, daisy themed wedding?

How 'bout PTI's Lemon Tart? It's not as bright as YoYo Yellow, but brighter than Barely Banana & So Saffron. It's a really NICE Summery yellow without it "yelling" @ you! ;)

I was totally thinking this too! I think this would be extremely appropriate and cheerful for a summer wedding.

And see that is what I wanted to do also, but I was trying to use something I already had to keep cost down.
Summer Sun and Yo Yo Yellow are quite loud...i think saffron would be nice...
I agree....he is arguing for Summer Sun....it seems that I am winning.
My next dilemma is....do I leave the petals white and color the center yellow, or do I color the petals yellow and leave the center the brownish color...he's arguing for yellow petals. Ah, this is going so well. ;)

I agree with the So Saffron, since you didn't want to buy PTI's Lemon Tart. If you did buy from PTI then you could buy the little ink cube and make everything match, even the ribbon (if you were going to add that). I totally agree that YoYo Yellow is way to loud. I would make the daisies white with yellow center's and then maybe with something really small make some brown spot's on them. Yep, that's what I would do.
BTW, I had daisies in my wedding too. 32 year's ago - WOW!!! Love them!!
Outline with details. Thinking of you set by Faereygirl at Splitcoaststampers That is a card set that I did with the stamp. Is it daisy enough? I love dasies and I cannot find a plain daisy stamp that I like other than that.

Whoa!! I love that daisy stamp. How do you order from TAC? I love it!!!
I'd go with So Saffron as well. And as for the petal colour-- if you want them to look like true daisies, then of course keep them white with a yellow center. If you just want more colour on your invites, then go with yellow petals, I guess.

I don't want a whole lot of color....clean and simple is what I am going for. at first I was going to do shabby chic....which would have rocked also.

(I STILL think you should use Lemon Tart!)
I'm going with the white petals, yellow center because otherwise a yellow Gerbera daisy with the brownish center will tend to look more like a sunflower, not a "daisy". KWIM?

Can't wait to see what you come up with!
In just posting this thread, I have sat down and drawn up three more invitation ideas.

The TAC Gerbera Daisy stamp is my all-time favorite. There are lots of TAC Angels, including me, that hang out on SCS who would be happy to help you. You can also visit the TAC website @ www.theangelcompany.net.

I agree with this opinion on the daisies.
I would vote for PTI lemon tart, but, again, if cost is an issue, I would go with barely banana. It's so soft.
I love So Saffron. It is my favorite yellow from SU. It really depends on whether you want a soft subtle yellow or a bright yellow. If you are using it for a matte, a brighter yellow would stand out more and really make a striking presentation. Perhaps make a few samples with different yellows and post them here. I know everyone here is very willing to view samples and give good advice. Good luck with your decision.
My loving fiancee and I are having a little friendly argument about which yellow to use for our wedding invitations.
Personally, I'm thinking your fiancee needs to get a life and realize that the BRIDE picks these sorts of things! Men need to worry about other stuff... like yelling at the coach on TV who can't hear a word he's saying and trying not to scratch in public. Pick the color YOU want because 6 months later, he isn't going to remember it anyway. (And if he does... you may want to re-think the whole wedding thing...)
Sound advice from one married 26 years to the same man, who still yells at coaches who can't hear him and barely refrains from scratching in public.

Barely Banana or the new PTI yellow, Lemon Tart (it is the most gorgeous yellow!!).
ETA:
I am making 100 invitations in the Gerbera Daisy theme, too
I'd love to see what the TAC daisy looks like...as long as it doesnt have to be colored;)

I just helped my fil's fiance this past weekend coming up with their daisy invitations. I vote for So Saffron because the Barely Banana may make it look too washed out. The saffron is just a bit more of a saturated color to make it stand out a bit more which will be better for the center of the flower. I would try to shadow a few of the petals to give it a bit more depth, but depending on the number of invitations you are doing that is going to be A LOT of coloring.
So Saffron and Barely Banana would be my choices but here's my thought... Men have very little say with decisions in weddings so what harm would it be in using the color he likes? Atleast some.
