Unmounteing stamps TOO STICKY! Help!

I have recently started to unmount my wood stamps and am thrilled at all the space I'll be saving!! I'm using the Alene's tack It Again and Again stuff and am putting on a minimal amount (I've watched the demo videos). I started storing the stamps in clear CD cases w/the insert removed. Some of the stamps are sticking to the plastic way to much. I'm having dificulty removing the stamp without tearing the clear image (w/tacky) from the actual stamp. What am i doing wrong? Any suggestions??? HELP:confused:

It can be a couple of different things...It may be too much on the stamp, it may be damp...I don't think you can pin point one thing...

What I do...After I apply to each stamp, I let it dry and then I release some of the tacky by laying it over my arm and pulling it off...Then I store them...

I have been using this method for the last 5 years and do not have a problem with it...

Make sure that it has dryed before you put it on your CD case or whatever you are putting them on. The glue should be clear, not white.

You are possbily using too much as well. It only takes a very thin coat. I use a sponge paint brush. I just put a dot on and spread it out with that. I unmounted over 250 sets + 35+ backgrounds and am still using the same bottle if that helps to give you an idea of the tiny amount that is used.

I noticed sometimes that the foam/ sticker are also not that sticky, so sometimes I put some mono adhesive directly on either the foam or sticker before I put the sticker on the back. That seems to help as well.

HTH!

I use TIOO on my unmounted stamps. I've had no problems with new stamps being too sticky, but some with those that I have removed from wood blocks have been. I'm pretty sure it's because some of the original adhesive remains on the foam. If you can remove some of that adhesive before applying the TIOO you'll see less stickiness and more of the intended tackiness.

Another thing - I've noticed that the stickers from the wood blocks don't stick to the stamps as well as new. But if you trim the sticker really close to the outline, so that a border of cushion sticks out around it and then apply the TIO&L, it kind of seals it down and makes it less likely to lift off.
