Amy,
No question about it. SU Glossy is the best. I even have a customer who always backs me up on this one and I sell tons of glossy to my customers. I think I will have to do the test and them maybe my customers will want US to.

Oh, yeah! My conversion came when a scrap of US got mixed up with my other stuff. (I was using the cheap stuff to do my mock-ups and then moving to SU! to do the real cards.) I'm drawn to the "fine engraving" style stamps and was using Basic Black on a stamp from Flower of the Month. I couldn't believe how crisp the image compared to the ones stamped on the other stock! The difference was even more pronounced after I colored in the image.

Now I'm moving away from using cheap stock for the folding part of the card too (when I use a neutral), because it's worth a dime to me for the person who receives the card to feeeeeeel the love!

It is the side by side comparison that convinced me!

I too am guilty of using an inferior brand from an office supply store. I was too cheap to buy from myself (I'm a demo). Then one day, after getting the aqua painters, I tried using them on my cheap stuff and it made a big mess! So I tried it on some SU-US and couldn't believe the difference. Decided right then the cheap stuff isn't worth it. Now I'm a believer!

I use the GP cardstock when I use shaving cream or do coffee staining. It soaks up the ink better, and I give my stampers 4 sheets of paper for shaving cream. They go nuts with the shaving cream, and make sure they use all 4 sheets. They like to see the difference between the first time and the last time. And I found the coffee staining works better with GP because it isn't as smooth and it goes in the cracks better when crumpled. However, everything else is with SU cardstock. It is the best.

Yes the SU! glossy is awesome, brayers GREAT.

Yes, it's expensive, but you can get four cards from each sheet.

When I started using the U/S White and Vanilla C/S from SU I had a "I wish had known then what I know now" moment. There is a HUGE difference. A friend of mine has a great time trying to trick me with white C/S and I can pick out the "imposter" every time.

I'm an ultrasmooth junkie!! ha ha ...

I let my kids use the GP stuff.

I have done tests of my own, and it just doesn't compare to the SU! ultrasmooth IMHO.

I have resolved to make a bit of a dent in the billions of sheets of CS I've accumulated til now before I let myself indulge in great SU papers. I actually kind of like the distressed, stippled effect I get with some of the no-name paper, but maybe that's denial kicking in.

Yep - I LOVE the US white and vanilla and the Glossy. You really do get what you pay for when it comes to SU Cardstock! I love it, and I don't buy any other brand because I have seen the differences and will stick to SU!
