Default 5th Birthday

My niece is having her 5th b-day and I wanted to know what kinds of projects they could do for their age range. Has anyone has any experience with kids this age and stamping?? I would like to use only SU projects, but I am open to suggestions...
Any ideas?
Thank you,

A grateful Aunt

Default craft projects

my daughter just had a 5th birthday party and i only had one stamping project. I bought a bunch of the composition books at the dollar store and covered them in cardstock. i then stamped each child's name on the cover and then let the kids go to town with markers, crayons, glitter glue, stickers, feathers, pom poms, etc. i selfishly did not let them stamp because i didn't want them to ruin my stamps or pads.

i did two other two activities. the first was cupcake decorating - they have really fun, awesome decorating tools in the supermarket now. spray colors (kind of like spray paint), different sprinkles, sugars, icings with different tips. the second was candy necklace stringing. i bought those thin licorice strings, then a ton of round candies, fruit loops, etc. that could be strung on the licorice. the children really enjoyed all the activities.

hope that helps!

My daughter is 5 and she loves to stamp and is quite good at it, but then her mommy is a SU! demo.

Some of the stamping projects I've done with her were: stamping on small fabric bags that you can get at Hobby Lobby, Michael's, or even Wal-Mart, stamping on small paper sacks (treat bags), make your own picture frame, and also fun foam crafts. One of her faves was decorating one of those fun foam visors with fun foam stickers and a paint pen (but you could also stamp on them). They are relatively inexpensive and perfect for use in the upcoming Spring/Summer weather. HTH! Have fun!

I have had the children make their own treat bags out of envelopes. I pre-score and cut off the tops and let them either stamp or colour both sides with markers and crayons, then we pop them open and fill them up. That way each child knows which treat bag belongs to them.

one thing to keep in mind, even though you and your daughter may stamp, other kids probably have not. So they will need to learn how handle the stamps--don't put it down on the table, place it on scratch paper etc... For this age group I usually give them one color stamp pad at a time and then switch, that way I don't have any accidentally ruined stamp pads.
