A Circle Journal is kind of like a round robin scrapbook swap. I have never done one however have heard both good and bad. Here is one of the best articles I have found on Circle Journals.
UK Scrappers Circle Journal

Creating Keepsakes also has a partial article online about Circle Journals

Hi Lady doc -- I don't have a CD temlate, but I will try to explain what a circle journal is...

A group of friends (local, or scattered across the globe) decide to to do a circle journal project. Say there are 5 friends in the group. Each member will decide on her own particulars (size, colors, theme) and make an album of her own, including creating several pages of her own design. These will probably include an introduction page, a page of directions, a sign in page and a couple of LOs done in the theme (ie: Favorite Vacation) she has chosen for her CJ.

The hostess of the group will choose a specific date for mail-out (ie: the 5th of each month) and will create a mailing list including each member. The mailing order will remain the same each month. SO, each month on the 5th, each member will send the CJ in her possesion to the name following hers on the list. It would sort of look like this:

1) Abby -- 6x6 post-bound album -- theme: Places I've Lived
2) Beth -- 10x10 spiral album -- theme: Favorite Books
3) Cathy -- 8.5x11 binder -- theme: Songs of my Childhood
4) Diane -- Gatefold album -- theme: All About Me
5) Ellen -- 5x7 post-bound album -- theme: Why I'll Never Grow Up

For the first mailing, Abby will mail her CJ to Beth; Beth will mail hers to Cathy; Cathy will mail her to Diane; Diane will mail hers to Ellen and Ellen will mail hers to Abby. Each member will then make a LO in the new CJ they have received - done in their own style (doesn't have to match the owner's), but remaining with the same theme the owner has chosen. Theoretically, at the end of 5 months, each member will receive her original CJ back in hand, complete with fun and creative entries from her four friends!

Clear as mud ?!

Hopefully, someone else will be able to explain this better than I did...

Default THANKS!

You guys are great... and that was a fab job of explaining the circle journal. I just started my first stampers club and it's all women I'm related to, so this might be fun to do! Thanks again for the explaination, the links, and the template!

That probably gives you a better chance for success with a circle journal. You know where they live and you see each other regularly. I think circle journal clubs that form on the net are frought with a few more challenges in getting them complete and back to their rightful owner.

There's a CD case by Cindy Lyles as today's tutorial. Look at the SCS home page under Top Story -- Wednesday Tutorial. HTH
