If you own the SU set Thoughts & Prayers... (a question)
I just received this stamp set and was searching the gallery. I have seen several cards there the branch is one color and the flowers are another. Would you use markers to achieve this effect? Also is it better to stamp the first color (say brown for the stems), clean the stamp and then using the stamp-s-ma-jig stamp the flowers in your other color? Is there another way to achieve the two-toned effect without using markers? Ionly have Zig pigment ink markers. ANyway to use the stamp pads to achieve the two-colored effect? Thanks for the help andsorry for so many questions. For some reason I am intimidated by this set now that I have it.

I just got this set as well. The very first thing I did was get my DH to make me another set of blocks. I hate double mounted sets. I used this set last night and I used the Stampin Up markers to get the two color effect. You porbably can do the Stamp ma jig to get it as well. I am going to try the spot pads tonight to see how they work out. I'll let you know how they worked out.

i think that markers would be the best for just a stamped image.
you could try to ink the stamp with one color and use a baby wipe to remove the ink where you need to, stamp it, and then do the same with the other color, and use the SAMJ for placement.
you could also just cut the flowers out like this, or even just use a punch like this.
good luck... i hope you find what will work for you.
I was just going to recommend the same thing - cutting/punching out the flowers in a different color.

I have it and I have found it is a little tricky even when using markers because the flowers and the branch are connected and my colors ran together. I have only played witth it a few times but I am going to try the stampamajic thing and markers to see what results I get...it also might have been the colors that I used...my flowers just didnt stand out...it is still a work in progress....now I made a really cool scape with the tree...unfortunately it was on my work pad and I was "practicing"...my goal is to do it again on usable piece of cardstock while I am on vaction next week...we will see!!
For the tree image, I was able to ink the top of the tree with an ink pad, then just take a chocolate chip marker and go over the branches with it. Saved quite a bit of time versus coloring all of the leaves with a marker.

Glad you gave us the link to the card where she used the punch. Great idea.
I had always just colored mine in the two colors with markers, huffed on it, and stamped. Guess you could do it either way but I like the punch idea. Cutting, I also love but sometimes I'm not happy with my cutting. Need practice.

I stamped the entire stamp in baja breeze then used a blender pen to "erase" the baja breeze from the branches and used my chocolate chip marker to recolor in brown.

I would think markers would be easiest. I didn't have the colors I needed so I used a dauber to ink up the flowers. Took a bit of time and it isn't perfect, but I liked the results that I got. Here it is if you want to take a look.
We just used this set at my SU! party last week. The demo had us ink it in green, lick a qtip to "remove" the green on the flowers and colored the 10 flowers with a SU! lavendar marker, huffed on it and stamped. It actually went very quickly and they turned out nice
I would also ink up in the stem color, remove the ink from the flowers with a q-tip, then color the flowers with a marker. If your flowers are a darker color than the stem (which isn't likely) you could color right over them with the flower color.

very clever!!!
i hadn't even thought about trying daubers!
it would be an alternative to buying markers... tho i LOVE my marker set!
I used this set for a shoebox swap. I recommended that they use a standard stamp pad to ink up in celery first, then take a chocolate chip marker and color over the stems and tree trunk. No need to remove the green first as the brown is dark enough to color. This is the easiest and fastest way to color this in. I will try to link my very simple card for you. Enjoy this set; it's versatile and fabulous IMHO.
