Is this too boring?
Hi everyone,
I made this card this morning and was going to have it be the make and take people do at my SU launch - but I am thinking its a bit boring!
What do you guys think? Any tips or advice would be appreciated!

Very cute! It's not boring. If you want to add something to it, maybe a background stamp in tone-on-tone for the base of the card? Just a suggestion, but certainly not necessary!

beautiful card! i'd leave it just the way it is!
the tulip says spring!
plus- it is an example of the fact that you don't HAVE to have a bunch of stuff to make a great card!

I agree with Blake's Mom, I'd do some type of background stamp on the base. But, really it's a very pretty card!

I was also thinking something on the background as well. But otherwise it looks nice.

I really like this card the way it is. One thing that I think I might do is to ink the edges of the cardstock that the tulip is stamped on with one of the shades of pink that you used to sort of frame the tulip.

Beautiful card!! The only thing I would say is that I have always been taught to use a current stamp set , then if they fall in love with the card, they may buy the set.

Gorgeous! I think it's simple enough that a person just learning to stamp will think, "yeah, I can do this!" Plus, more sales for you!!!

Good point! I think I've purchased quite a few of the sets that were used at the Stamp-a-Stack I was at. Mainly because they were stamps that didn't really appeal to me in the catalog, but once I used them, I liked them and needed them!!

Both cards are lovely and should (I think) excite the ladies to buy. Terrific Tulips is one of my all-time favorites - it's hard to make a bad card with it, really!

Yes, the background definitely adds a nice touch. I would also sponge some color around the edges of the white panel with the tulip.

Ditto...but I was going to suggest doing "direct to paper" around the edges of the white paper that the tulip is stamped on. Nice background - really adds richness to the card!

Nice choice on the BG! I think it looks great!! The tulip might pop a little more if you do as other suggested by inking the edges (either with sponges or directly with the inkpad). No matter what you decide, it's a great card!

It's a great make and take. I like no BG best. Just goes to show you there is no right or wrong in creating! I wish tulips was still available in the U.S.

All three are great. This is a great example of how one card done three ways can appeal to all types.

I think the final version is great. But,I'd keep the original on display. It is also lovely and gives the stamper/customer an idea of how adding a bit here or there makes a difference. Some may prefer the simpler version but I like the way you started with one and ended with another. I think that is a great selling strategy!

I so ditto Joan - if you have all three on display you can show how nice a basic card is and then show just bumping it up a notch or two - it would really show your customers that it doesn't take much to add a little more pizzaz to thier cards - KWIM...

Wow! I have to say I thought your card was super pretty to begin with. Then, I thought it was beautiful when you added the BG. NOW...I think it's stunning! Nice job!! I would be thrilled with that as a make and take!

I love the final version! I ink edges of most layers. I find everything pops more. And I agree with Joan B; show them all, what you can do with an extra step. Brilliant I think!

You have come up with a card that is doable for all stampers yet includes so many different techniques and tools--piercing, using a BG stamp, two-step stamping, 3-D image with pop dots, using a word stamp in a unique way, layering in a non-traditional/modern way--this is just great! I agree with Joan to keep both cards out for ladies to see both looks. Good luck on your event!

Great card. That is one of my favorite sets - I think it was the first set I bought.
You could even take it up one more notch if you wanted to show the next level - emboss the words. You'd be showing another technique, and would have a fourth edition to show. Not really necessary, but it's a thought.
