Tile Coasters

Has anyone had trouble with your coffee mug or glass sticking to your coasters? I have made them before and have not had this trouble. I am using a different sealer and was wondering if this could be the problem. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Thanks a bunch, :)

I've only used tumbled tiles for my coasters...

and haven't had one problem with my mugs sticking to them. Everyone on our Christmas list this year that received them hasn't complained either and they're all in use frequently.

Have you tried any tumbled tile yet to make your coasters?

I could see where a polished tile that has been treated with Krylon may make the glass stick if you use something wet, either hot or cold, on top of the coaster.

Hope you find an solution to your problem. I'll have to follow this thread to see what ya'll figure out.

i did have this issue with a particular spray sealer i used...i can not for anything remember the brand name, but it did the same thing...sticking to mugs and glasses. Maybe try another sealer?? :?: I tried a new one, and have not had the same problem since. :D

Mine sticks all the time but only because I drink my coffee with sugar and I am a messy slob. :? Sorry I couldn't resist!

Hope you figure it out. I use tumbled tile and don't seal so they stay absorbent (except to sugar!) so I can't help you there!
