Hello everyone,
I need your help looking for book markers. I've tried finding them in the gallery, but there just isn't anything posted under "book markers". :? I thought some of you might have some posted under something different, and I could get some great ideas.
Trying to make some for Christmas gifts.
Thanks a bunch
Thank you very much!! I found quit a few on the bookmark link..
But for some reason I can't get the attachment file to open correctly. I don't know much about computers, but when I try to open it, it's just a bunch of strange symbols and stuff. This happens to me a lot!! I don't know how to get it to open.
Hey thanks Spammie,
I got my DH to help me, and now I can open all kinds of attachments. Oh no, you don't know what you've done!! I don't think he's real keen with the idea that I am learning about all of this..
I'm starting to become a little more independent then I used to be.
And I don't spend as much time cooking and doing laundry and the wifey things I used to do...
Sorry Hubby!!!
Another fun way to make a bookmark is to make a strip say 2" by 5". Stamp it and laminate it if you want. Fold it in half so that it is 2" by 2.5" put a magnet on each end. Now you can mark exactly where you left off on the page. I like these a lot.
Purplewinkle,
I like your idea, I think? Do you know if a picture of this particular book mark is in the gallery?
I'm trying to picture this in my head.. So it folds over the edge of the page? And the magnets hold it in place?
This sounds very neat!!
Thanks for your idea..
Terri,
Here's an example of the magnet bookmark as done by MelMel. I think she also had one in the think pink section of the dirty dozen design gallery.

Sorry for not responding sooner... Had to work all day today and just got back home.
The sample looks really nice, and thanks for all the help. I'm going to have to try this out. I know all my co-workers will be very happy to get one of these. They are so neat..
Thanks again..
Terri
is there another way to view the bookmark made by MelMel...the link doesn't work for me..it says i don't have permisson to view that gallery. i would love to see how the magnet works...
thanks
I attended a camp a couple of years ago where we made a card (A-2 size) cut from the length of the paper instead of the width (so, cut 5.5 inches of cardstock lengthwise). Score @ 4.25. at 8.5 use the perforator. Fold the right hand end (which is perforated @ the 9 inch spot) to the inside. Use the corner rounder on the folded in section on the top and bottom (you will be going thru the top right corner of the card and the perforated tab, then the bottom Rt corner- again 2 thicknesses card and tab). Also round the corner of the outside edge of theperforated tab (so all of the corners of the tab are rounded). Stamp your card, then the perforated tab to coordinate- the recipient tears off the perforated tab and it is used as a bookmark!
Enjoy!
