Need help with eyelet tool kit please!

I recently bought the Eyelet Tool Kit and accidentally threw away the directions. Can anyone tell me how the eyelet setter works? It's not like the other one I have and I just can't figure it out! TIA,

Karen

huh...can't think of how it would be different, but here's how to set the eyelets:

make hole

insert eyelet

flip paper over and put the point of the setter inside the tube of the eyelet

tap a few times with a hammer (you don't need lots of pressure for SU's eyelets, they're softer than other brands)

remove setter and tap once or twice lightly with hammer to get a nice flat finish

HTH,

Okay, now I have a dumb question (which is what I get for throwing the directions away!) The piece that is solid with a point, is that the anywhere punch or the setter? I thought that was the punch. And if it is the punch, the setter is the other one, right? It has like a "grooved out" side. The setter I currently have looks like a flower on the end and has a nub in the center that you put in the center back of the eyelet. I'm so confused!

Help!

Hi Karen

The punches are the ones with the hole in them. Yes, the setter has the point, which is what goes in the eyelet. ;)

So now the obvious question -- since I had the pieces mixed up, how do you use the punch? I can't believe this is so hard for me to get! It's the simple things that get you, you know?

TIA,

It's easy! Just put the punch where you would like your hole--directly on the paper. (The end with the hole/indented area, goes on the paper.) Tap with your hammer a couple of times--tada, a hole! Depending on the thickness of the paper/how many layers, you might have to tap a few more times to make the hole.

This tool is really handy for areas where a hand punch won't reach!

Don't forget to use the self healing mat under the area where you are making the holes, or you will end up with divots in your table!!! Use it again when setting the eyelets to make it easier
