Default Drawing Cards?

Does anyone else out there draw their cards out before they make them?
I have a very precise way of drawing out my cards before I sit down to stamp. I have a 'kit' that contains my binder, markers, examples of all my punches and embossing folders, colour coaches, and other things. I draw and colour my creations out on graph paper with exact measurements, and write out a kind of 'recipe' below it.
The reason I do this is because I can sit and sketch anywhere - while watching tv, sitting at a market or fair, or even in the car on road trips. Then when I do get down to my stamp room, I don't have to waste my precious stamping time figuring out what I want to do. I just grab my binder, pick a sketch, and start.
I realize this might be a bit 'type A' but it works for me. Does anyone else do anything even remotely similar?
I've added a picture of my latest sketch, so you can see what I mean...
Thanks!
Jo

After being an SCS member for many years, I know there are many stampers here who do something similar to what you do. I know that card sketches are very popular, and lots of folks make a "recipe" for their cards before they start to make them.

I, myself, am more inclined to start with the reason I need to make a card, like birthday, thinking of you, holiday, etc. and then go from there - but just in my head. I seldom write anything down, or draw it out.

I find an image I like, then decide on what colors I will use for the card, and the sentiment I will use. Lately, I've been making more sentiments on my computer than stamping them.

The design for the card comes to me as I work with all the pieces in the puzzle.

I think it's wonderful that all of us find different ways to be creative and do what makes us happy!
