Smile Is there such thing as a scrapbooking show?

My DH was at the Sportsman show in Toronto (ontario) on Fri. it is a huge show. It got me thinking is there such a thing for scrapbookers/paper crafters in Toronto or near there?

I know there are definitely scrapbook conventions, but I don't have a site to direct you to for locations. Sorry!!

An easy place to find listings of scrapping and rubber stamping conventions is to look through current scrapping or stamping publications. Also, I just 'googled' the keywords "scrapbooking convention" and found lots of places to start looking too.

This might not be what you are looking for but I just got home from a scrapbooking retreat in Buffalo Ny - so much fun! We got there Friday night and left at 3:00 Sunday afternoon -- there were venders selling products, classes and, of course, cropping for three days! It was awesome! It's called Crop A Lot Retreats - you can google them. They will be back in Buffalo next March.

I don't know if they travel to Toronto but if you go to

www.creatingkeepsakes.com and select the convention tab you can see if any are coming near you. They always have tons of great and fun scrapbooking stuff

there is also the Great American Scrapbook Convention -- just google it. I know it goes to Arlington Texas and Chantilly VA and at least one more place.

There is a big crafting show every year at the Toronto COnvention Center. I went once when my husband had a meeting there at the same time. I think it was called a Needlecraft and Sewing Expo - but it covered scrapbooking as well. You could try doing a search.

Creating Keepsakes is in Buffalo in June. I went last year and had an awesome time. My mom and I stayed in a hotel for 2 days and took classes and shopped. It was the best I have been too. Totally worth the drive.

K. Benko - yes, there are TV shows. Well, one that I know of anyways. My mother lives in Ottawa and the American PBS station they get there (I think its WPBS) airs on. It airs Monday afternoons around 2 or so. Scrapbooking Memories or something like that its called. I've watched it a couple of times when I've been to visit.

Smile Yes there sure is - sort of

Each Fall, usually in October, there is a large show in Downtown Toronto at the convention centre. Usually mid October. It used to be called The Needlework & Craft Festival but has recently been renamed 'CreativFestival'.

There is a smaller version every April, this year April 20, 21 & 22nd at the International Centre in Mississauga which is just slightly west of Toronto and near the airport.

Here is the link to it for those of you interested in it:

http://www.creativfestival.ca/

It is not just scrapbooking or cardmaking but also beading, lots of it and sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting.

There are various times of passes you can purchase, some for 1 day, others for all the days including dinners, lunches, lots of hands on classes, etc.

People come from all over North America and beyond to attend this event.

There is a big show called The Canadian Scrapbook Expo that is being held in Ottawa in May. You can go to the website of the same name for info. I tried to find something in Toronto but didn't see anything

There is the scrapbooking expo in Paris, ON on May 4-5. The Friday is VIP night and costs $15 to get in but they only sell 300 tickets. The Saturday is $7 pre-paid tickets or $8 at the door. This day is for everyone.

Here is the site:

Hope this helps!
