Default Is There a Mistake in the Catalog?

I just noticed something. Turn to pages 164 & 165 in the new catalogs. Look at Letter Prints---in my catalog, the script is backwards! The same for Letter Patterns on page 165, look at the letters. Is that the way the stamps come so when they print, the lettering is backwards? Anyone know? ---Jeannie

Those are to use for the kissing technique for your larger alphabet stamps, so they will make the impression the correct direction.

The lettering IS backwards, but it is that way on purpose. Those stamps were designed for the "kissing technique," where you stamp one stamp onto another stamp so that when you stamp your page you have the pattern within that confined space. Does that make sense? Basically, you would ink up the Letter Prints stamp, take a solid image stamp (such as one of the large letters or one of the large solid shapes) and stamp it onto the rubber of the Letter Prints stamp, and then stamp the letter or whatever you are using onto your paper. The print you have chosen will be facing the correct way since you "kissed" the other stamp.

This is probably clear as mud, but I HTH you!

I was pretty excited by that-I was always a bit flummoxed trying to use my "By Definition" bg to kiss theletters in Headline Alpha. So glad that we have "kissable" sets now!
