Yeah, that Edgy Eloquence set -- the one with the great sayings! I am hoping the polka dot set will make it into the catalog next year, because it seems pretty popular, but I'd get that sayings set. - Gay Howe

I love the Shore Thing set. The sand stamp is wonderful and the waves stamp is great too. I think this summer mini is one of the best to come out for a while. I also have the Wheel Thing which I love and can't wait to make a card with a red wagon like Radio Flyer. I also really like my Wish you were here set.

I love the water and the sand stamp out of that set but funny how I didn't even see those until you mentioned it. And how many times have I looked at the mini? LOL

I am going to get the basics outline and I think thats it out of the mini.

Now for the new caddy. I happened to read the link on color combos today and now I want the new colors. Before today I was content to live without them. So I had better get going with those decisions. To many great things.

I love the alphabet too and I don't have any alpha sets.
Thanks

Save your money and one month decide which you like better the headline or letterpress. They make great name plaques. Personally I ended up getting both. I love making name plaques as gifts. It is now a stand by that I know if I go to a baby shower my friends expect a name plaque for their baby from me. Fine with me they are fun to make and I love that my friends love something I can make!

Maybe I am the wrong girl to ask, because I ordered almost every set out of the mini...but I think there are a few must haves.

Bud basics or polka dot posies
petal patch paper
spunky alphabet

I got Cowboy Kid, which I kind of regret. I did just order Bud Basics at my stamp club, although I don't have it yet. Then I placed an individual order that included Polka-Dot Posies, the outline wheel for Bud Basics, and By Sea. We did a great card at the rubber stamp expo last weekend that used the sailboat from By Sea and the WordSearch background, so I had to get both. I also bought the designer paper, but I haven't used it yet.

I still want Nature Prints and The Wheel Thing (I don't have my summer mini in front of me, so the name of this might be off, but I'm talking about the one with the wheelbarrow, shopping card, etc.), but when I placed my August order, sacrifices had to be made and I won't get those two. It's complicated to want everything!

After being tempted by all the above posts, I'm wondering where the Gallery has hidden the Summer Mini examples. I checked for the separate mini listing, and Nature Prints and Bud Basics in the alphabetical listings, but they're not there. I'd love to see some examples before making my final decisions on the Summer mini.

I think the "shore thing" set is wonderful -- the wave stamp and the sand stamp are both great background stamps and in the gallery for this set there is a card where someone used the wave stamp vertically to look like seaweed (sorry, I don't remember whose creation this was, but it was wonderful). And you have to love the little crab!

If you click on "gallery" there is a separate category for "Summer mini catalog 2006". Here is the link in case you don't find it:

Hope that helps!

Just today I've decided to order Shore Thing. I love the wave stamp and the sand stamp and they can be used in conjuction with other sets too ... I also have Bud Basics, one of the matching wheels and Sheltering Tree.

I ordered bud basics and the designer paper. I didn't order the wheels that go with bud basics because I don't have a jumbo handle or any cartridges and it would add up quick. My demo has the outline one, so I can borrow it if I need it. Bud Basics is one of my fave flower sets.

Do you think there will be alot of people trying to get rid of their bud basics once the mini is gone? I've been wanting bud basics and polka dot posies for awhile, should I just get it before it's gone or wait out for someone to get rid of theirs?

Um...everything? I'm so bad. But it I love this mini. (I love them all, really). I always check out the gallery to see other people's samples. That always helps me decide. I never really know what I want until I see a card made with it and then I say, "I have to have that set!"

If you put the sun up in the corner from shore thing and rip paper to look like the waves and then use the wave stamp. Turn it sideways to make seaweed add a fish and have an adorable card!!!

I saw one in the gallery where they used the white craft ink and rubbed on top of the ripped paper waves to create white caps! I just had to try that! I noticed they also used the white craft ink to create clouds in the sky. The ideas are endless!
