Default Posting RAK's in the Gallery

I put the following post in the RAK section, too, but I thought it was important enough that it should go into general stamping topics as well!
Kay K aka "Speedystamper!"

I read with interest some of the posts under the "I am miffed" series in the General Stamping Forum and I thought I should say something about posting RAK's in the gallery - but I felt like it needed to be a separate topic so here goes . . .

I read that a few people were reluctant to send RAK's because they had CASE'd ideas from Splitcoast and they didn't want their CASE'd work to be posted without credit going to where it was CASE'd . . . or perhaps they didn't want the artwork to be posted at all for one reason or another so instead of sending a RAK, they have decided not to participate at all.

I do post cards that I have received as RAK's and sometimes I'm not sure if I should be. But, I'm always so thrilled with the cards that I have received that I want to show others. So, away I post. I do have a suggestion though . . . if you don't want your RAK to be posted, please just say so on the card. That would make it so much easier for everyone!
Also, if you don't mind the card being posted, but you CASE'd it, again, just say so on the card so proper credit can be given when the card is posted. It's really not so complicated and being clear about it to others takes so little time. I would hate to see people hesitate to send a RAK just because they didn't want it to be posted. Just say you don't want it posted and send away. I KNOW it will still be appreciated!

Great Idea! I think we should give credit where credit is due. I personally would be honored to see someone had CASEd something I did. I also think it is important to acknowledge the CASE's original designer. I do a lot of CASEing altho I do tweak here or there or take several ideas and incorporate it into one. I make an attempt to credit where I got my ideas from.

So RAK away ladies and don't be worried about sharing what you receive!

AFter all of this discussion, I think I will now write "CASEd from" or "Partially CASEd from" on the back of my cards....not that I've ever sent out something that wasn't either my own idea, or CASEd from the IB&C or Inspirations sheets.....but it can't hurt. I know I would certainly never intentionally "steal" someone's idea and then take credit. I'm not a demo (so it's not a huge issue) but I would hate to think someone thinks I'm "stamp lifting" from them!!

This is great discussion though...

I have copied so many cards into my files from months ago that I have no idea where they came from. I just put CASE'd on the back and hope that covers it. I certainly don't want to abuse CASEing. I'd be in a pickle if I couldn't get ideas from others.
