This will be my first craft fair and they told me that someone else reserve or is thinking of reserving a table for SU stuff but that she is more of a hobby than business like me.They offer to put us as far apart as they can within the same building. Can we do that without be working together?I need to get my business out there and this will be my best bet. A friend of mine told me not to waste my money on the table because they know her and not me and prefer to do business with her better. HELP :? what do you think I should do? I need new customers

Wow! a lot is going on here...Well here is my 2 pennies worth:
1. Don't base your decisions on what someone else MIGHT do. Decide what you want to do and run with it! Focus your energy on the race set before you and not on the other runners.
2. It sounds like the organizers are making a fair deal to separate you 2 as much as possible. Sounds good to me!
3. Who says "they" prefer to do business with her??? Maybe "they" are just looking for an excuse to find a new Demo. Your "friend" is not a cheerleader...Oh well...maybe it was a bad day for her. Run your business on that you think is best.
So...what's the worst thing? You'll have a little competition! Let it spur you on to be creative and productive. Don't let it paralize you.
If the table does not cost an arm and a leg and if this will be a decent size fair, why not go ahead and try!
At the very least...you'll learn from the experience and plan for next year accordingly!
Wishing you all the best!
You go girl!

:) Hi Scrapyme,
I'm not a SU demo yet, and my situation is different, but I think competition is good, and you need to go after your dream and what is in your heart! For the last 2 years I've set up a table at a local craft fair selling cards, etc. I've made with SU supplies. Both years someone else was selling cards. The first year my profits were down, but the second year I actually had people come back because they remembered my cards and wanted somemore.
For the last 2 months I am a 'vendor' in a craft mall selling my same products along with my husband hand-turned pens, etc. There are 2 other vendors there, one who does stamping, and one who makes cards with paper and donly minimal stamping. Each one of us our own unique personality shining through, and it has been profitable.
Think of it this way, people may come by that don't know the other person, and may not stop by her stand; but by the time they come to you, they may have thought of it more and stop by you. I always, always pray about these things and firmly believe God sees the big picture and knows what we need, when we need it. I go with that faith and what I feel in my heart to do. Go for it!!
This is my first post so hopefully I know how to do it! I love Splitcoasters!!
Thank you all for the vote of confidence, I will take the table and make my presentation anyway, like you ladies say, everyone has a different style and I might do better than I expect.I just want to make sure I can do it without violating any policies, the other demo might get mad if I do better and report me if any violations are commited since she reserved first. Thanks so much, you make me feel more confident about my skills
Go for it Mayra!!
Stamp your cards with an Angel Policy stamp. Be sure to have plenty of your business cards available & give one with each purchase. Look up the guidelines, follow them, and have a GREAT time!
Good Luck!

Just do it and do it with FLAIR! Be as creative as you can be. Perhaps a CD player with the SU convention songs playing? The more you can bring attention to your booth, the better.
Our company has done some trade fairs. Free popcorn seems to draw people. Perhaps given away in stamped french fry bags? You can get plain white ones cheap at Oriental Express, I believe. Can you do raffles at this craft fair? Perhaps you can have a drawing for a SU prize in exchange for their name and phone number? We did a signed Whitey Ford baseball drawing and got a lot of business contacts that way.
