Those of you who are going to ScrapFest, did you get the classes you wanted? Registration was a nightmare for me (and I've done it before). It didn't want to put the classes in my cart that I had chosen, etc. But I did get a couple of my choices. Had to register for a friend too, but a lot of her favorites were sold out by then. I'm hoping they improve the registration to speed things up in the future. Just my opinion.

I've been to that mall more times than I can count and know that the parking alone on days with an event such as that are enough to keep me from attending, never mind the crowds and all the waiting, not worth it. IMHO

I had no problem registering this morning. I only had one workshop I wanted and luckily I was able to get it right away. If you are there right in the morning, parking didn't seem to bad, we parked right by the door last year.
I went last year - didn't take any classes, did the free make & takes and did some shopping. Parking wasn't a problem. We had a great time and I would do it again.
So do you recommend bringing some dough with to this thing? I wasn't sure if they are actually selling stuff or just doing make n' takes and classes. I'm assuming it is like a big scrapbooking expo, right?
I wasn't planning to go but now I'm kinda tempted. I'm not sure if I want to deal with all the crowds though. Is it hard to get in to do the make n' takes?

The lines for the make-n-takes get really long by afternoon, probably a 1-2 hour wait. It depends on the popularity of the project you get to make. The vendors do not sell product, but everything they demonstrate is available at Archiver's--where the check out line is also long! Takes lots of patience but sure is a lot of fun.
I went and enjoyed it quite a bit... but the lines were Loooooooooong as there were fewer vendors and more people... but we took way more classes this year, so it was all good!

This is what I was asking about in a thread I wrote today. I can't find any info about it. I need a site to go to so my sister and I can register and make plans for it. We saw the article in the Scrapbook Etc. magazine, but, there wasn't anything to tell how to do anything. Can someone send me the link to this thing and explain how you do things there? Thanks so much, as you can tell this is our first crop outside our state, and this one is a biggie.
Hello! Not sure if you got an answer to this yet or not... but there isn't a lot of detail to be had yet.
Stop by the Archiver's Website HERE. Check bakc there for updates.
The dates for 2009 are September 17-19, and registration is not until July 20th. They usually start putting things up a few weeks in advance, but I haven't seen anything yet?
Maybe I'll see you there!

The only "shopping" you can do is at the MOA Archivers. The manufacturers can't/don't sell at the event. They're on the 1st floor either teaching classes or doing make & takes all day.
My mom, sister, and I have gone a couple of years in a row now...but we've only really done one crop. We didn't want to pay $10 for make & takes of projects that we probably wouldn't use too quick and had to wait 1-2 hours to start the project anyway.
I would like to have taken a few manufacturer taught classes though.
