Default Computer Images on Stamps

Hello!

I am interested in seeing how you have used the computer to enhance your cards....anyone have those in their galleries?

I have a card somewhere in my gallery (see link below) using the Haute Couture set, where I used the computer to make the background paper on the card. Other than that, using the computer to generate sentiments for the inside is another way to use your computer.

Do keep in mind that many, if not most, stamp companies prohibit computer manipulation of their images (i.e., copying images to glue to your card rather than stamping, copying finished cards to mass produce, etc.). This is especially important with regard to selling your cards. Some companies go so far as to include copying onto shrink plastic or acetate as being prohibited.

I am not sellng my cards, but I don't think I would scan all that. I just figure I can use clipart and stuff for those stamps I want to use but just can find one. For instance, I would like to do one with poker chips on it, but I don't see that Stampin up has any stamps that have to do with poker, so I could use clip art for that.

Selling cards - I tried the Mary Kay thing once and running a business is not for me. I am just making and making and having a great time doing it!

Thanks!

Oh, I see what you mean! Yeah, that would be a great way to add to your card...

Hey- I tried Mary Kay years ago and that failure/debt is exactly what is keeping is keeping me from becoming a demo! (Mostly the fact that I would just buy, buy, buy to get something worth $10 for free!).

I am a much better customer than demonstrator - I try to only order if a friend is having a workshop, I'm hosting or at a stamp-camp!

I have only used my computer one time - just recently and I loved it! I wanted to stamp something that said "Trim The Tree.." I found a really cute font and printed it out in lines, then cut it in strips and slapped it right on my project - It was perfect! I will surely use it more. I know you can download really cute clip art for free, I don't see why printing a really nice print of something, such as some poker chips, and cutting them out and sticking them on wouldn't work. I think as long as it is a really nice clear pint, it would be fine. I don't think you would be very happy with the results if you could see a lot of the dot-printing in your picture if you had to enlarge it or something..

Default Computer Additions

I often use my computer to put text on the inside of cards when I want the inside personalized or don't have just the right text. (There are several sites that have quotations etc for cards.) There are also free downloadable fonts that let you be very creative with type. As for pictures or clip art, again there are many places to get such pieces especially when you need something specific. I have even used Microsoft Clips Online to get EXACTLY what I was looking for. That all said, I sometimes have trouble printing onto the cardstock that I want to use. I have an HP photosmart printer that is kind of picky about the weight or thickness of the paper it will take without jamming up in back, but I have another hp printer at work (gasp) that is much less exacting that I can trust to take even the good Stampin up papers. I think the computer is just one more tool for our use in creating art.
