TAC Question
 

I have been stamping for about 4 years now and only buy SU! products. Recently, my friend brought me her TAC catalog to look through. I LOVED many of the stamp sets. Can anyone tell me how these sets stamp compared to SU? I am also not really sure how the easy cling works.

I think they work great. I only have a few sets (so far) but find that they are good quality rubber.

In my opinion... they are as good as SU. They stamp a very clear & crisp image. You will not e disappointed at all!!! Good Luck.

I was an SU demo for 5 years before switching to TAC and I don't have any issue with the stamped images. The stamps come on a sheet of blue rubber which you mount on creative cling (included in the price of the stamp set) which in turn "clings" to an acrylic block.
I was a little afraid of unmounted stamps, but now I'm a total convert. I love being able to see where I am stamping, the lower prices of the sets and the extra storage space I have.

I'm very interested in learning more about TAC as well. I have just been looking through their catalog online and they have some REALLY cute sets. Unfortunately there is not a demo anywhere close to me. So any knowledge that you can share is great!

I also loved their catty. There isn't even a demo in my country! lol

The stamps TAC has are basically the exact same as SU! quality wise. There is just one difference and that is SU! has theirs mounted on wood and TAC has an excellent quality cling on the back and it sticks to acrylic blocks. They are not clear but look just like SU! in that they are good quality rubber with a cushion mount. This is important because they give produce better images than clear stamps. You can see exactly where you are stamping which makes a big difference. You'll never have to use a stamp-a-mig because you don't have the wood hiding where you are stamping. You can perfectly line up alphabet sets. You can do the two step stamping with ease because you see exactly where you need to place the second stamp.

I now make all my SU! stamps just like TAC by mounting the SU! on cling instead of wood. I sure wish SU! would give a no wood option. I guess that is why TAC is a good bit cheaper than SU! I truly love SU! quality but TAC is in every way equal to quality as SU!

Bethany, why don't you sign up with TAC. Even if you don't sell or hold workshops, you can just get the discount. You only have to buy/sell $100.00 every four months which is SO easy. You get a 25% discount and they already have super low prices. There are tons of cute sets with at least 5-6 images for only $10.95 and that is before your 25% discount. If you sign up in March they are giving away $50.00 worth of stamps of your choice out of the catalog.

Just chiming in to say that I too am a TAC convert. Love their sets, love their prices, and have been super happy with my demo that I found through this site. I've been thinking about becoming a hobby demo and am just waiting for the perfect incentive that they have offered in the past. One free hostess set from every level. WOW!

That's what I got when I signed up :) Truly though, I think the $50 free stamps (starting March 1) is a fabulous deal!!

My heart is with SU! but I am signing up with TAC as of Saturday! Their stamps IMHO are so similar to SU! stamps. And they are a lot cheaper.

I guess you can call me a convert now. But I will still buy SU!

Well Rachel I have been using TAC stamps since 2002, And selling them since 2004.

Our Stamps are Deeply Etched Blue Rubber Stamps. Our stamps come on a sheet of Rubber and a Sheet of Creative cling foam.

So the minimum to stay a demo with TAC is only $100 every 4 months??? Wow..I just may have to sign up! Is the shipping and everything pretty much the same as SU?

I was a loyal SU customer for about 6 years before I discovered TAC here on SCS and signed up as a demo. I love the unmounted TAC stamps--the storage is great, I think they stamp just as well as SU stamps, and the prices are reasonable.

You can always swap discounts with your SU! demonstrator friends. That is the best of both worlds...get the discount from both companies!

Yes, very low minimums huh? Very doable. Yes the shipping is the same, 10%.

Starting in March you get double benefits. You always get a choice of 12 freebie stamps with every $30.00. There are some truly beautiful free stamps. With this promotion you get 2 free stamps for each purchase.

If you buy $100.00 worth of product you get all the double hostess rewards so you would get 6 free individual stamps, 2 level 1 hostess gifts, and 3 half price items. They have the scor pal which is so popular so you can get it for $20.00 instead of $40.00. Shawn, if I am not mistaken the $50.00 free stamps is a better deal. Hostess level one is worth $7.95 level two $10.95 and level 3 $19.95 so $50.00 is more. You also get to choose from the entire catalog. Remember that TAC is different than SU! in that you will see the hostess level stamp sets in the next catalog available for purchase so they aren't really that big of a deal. I like how SU! does it because it encourages people to have parties so they can get hostess sets that will never be available again.

I love TAC stamps! The rubber is nice and soft and I love it. The impressions are nice and clear. And I like how they make it easy to be a hobbyist which is all I really have time for right now.

TAC has spoiled me with their prices. I can get a whole good-sized set of stamps for $10.95. It's at least twice that for the same size SU set. I have a hard time paying that much anymore!

Just another voice to say TAC is wonderful. I just signed up to be a hobby demo in the fall so I'm still learning the ropes. I was never a SU demo but SU customer for over 10 years. TAC stamps are as wonderful in detail and quality as SU AND less expensive, take up less space - what you've already read in other posts. I will say SU has more ink colors to choose from IMHO and so I will still look at SU ink and paper but TAC has some awesome DP and neat combo packages of it! I am LOVING playing with them!

I think you all have convinced me that it is okay to try other companies! I will definitely be purchasing some sets to try.

It is always ok to try something different. I used to think that I needed to stick with one company to be happy, but have learned that I can just buy whatever it is I like and am still just as happy. I'm an equal opportunity stamper. ;)

Staying with one company. would be like eating the same old food everyday.

That's why I purchase and use stamps from other Companies. I can't stand eating the same old thing everyday!!

Another happy TAC customer/hobby demo here. Great stamps, excellent prices, fun designer papers and cardstock, Palette Hybrid inks which work well for archival scrapbooking as well as cardmaking, a wide variety of tools and embellishments, . . . . I also use products from other companies--Hero Arts, SU, BiblicalImpressions, Stampabilities, Marvy Uchida, Tombow, Carl, Making Memories, just to name a few. TAC stamps are every bit as nice as any from the other companies I mentioned, they stamp clear impressions, and take up less space for storage. And with the lower prices, you can afford to own twice as many images for the same amount of dollars invested!

Someone asked about shipping: TAC's shipping rate is $6.95 minimum or 10%, whichever is greater. SU is raising their shipping rate to $6.95 minimum, also. This seems to be a fairly standard amount for UPS shipping from most companies. And compared to the cost of filling a gas tank to travel anywhere from 25 to 75 miles to LSS or craft stores (I know this doesn't apply to everyone, but to many), $6.95 is still a bargain!

Well, you all have convinced me! I love unmounted stamps, have a lot of them from a variety of companies and have just never run across TAC before this. I just spent a while going through the TAC catalogue and REALLY like what I see.

I've been asked in the past by my old SU demo and my CM demo to become a demo because of my "enthusiasm". I also considered CTMH for a while. Time to do the job well enough to meet the minimums always stopped me. TAC has the first offer I've seen that looks doable for me without stretching me too thin with my teaching job. I'm pretty sure I can meet these minimums all on my own, lol!

I've got a date with my ortho doc in the OR on Thursday and I think some of my recovery time needs to be spent doing the research to get into this before March ends.
