swap?

Please, can someone tell me what a "shoebox swap" is. I have participated in my first mail out swap and our group gets together every other month to share ideas etc. but this seems to be different. Thanks Rose:p

A shoebox swap is when you get together as a group - everyone designs a card and pre-cuts the paper, etc. for the card. Then you put a sample card and all of the supplies needed to make the card - stamps, inks, pre-cut paper, embellishments, etc. into a shoebox, or the like. Then usually, everyone just rotates around to all the boxes and makes all the different cards.

Not sure what everyone else calls a 'shoebox swap'. In our group each person creates a sample card. The card is placed inside of a clear envelope and attached to the top of a 'shoebox'. She then places within the 'shoebox' all of the stamps and inks needed to make her card, plus a ziplock bag for each member... the bag contains all of the pre-cut cardstock and embelishments to complete the sample card. Each member brings her own adhesive.

Once a card is completed, all of the supplies go back into the box.. and the boxes are passed around until each person has had the opportunity to complete all of the cards.

If there are ten people in the group, each person leaves with her 'shoebox' of supplies... plus different cards in addition to her own.

Hoping this helps.

Have a FUNtastic day!
