Default Is the Summer Mini a hit or miss?

Hi. I am hosting a summer mini swap. This is my first time hosting. I have been in several swaps, and I do great work. I have over 1,000 hits on my swap, but only 10 takers. Can anyone offer me advice on hosting a swap, etc. Thank you.

I would sign up if I had some stamps from the summer mini. With the new catalog coming out, I am holding off buying summer mini stamps because I want to make sure that I get the ones that are retiring first. Maybe that is why others aren't signing up as well?

I ordered 3 sets from the summer mini and I saw your swap post but I can't participate because 1. I don't have my sets yet and 2. I'm going to be on vacation from 6/19-7/6. It would never be enough time for me to assemble, stamp and mail to you. Maybe the timing is hindering people because of vacations? Just a thought. Good luck, I'm sure you will find more participants!

Sonia, Thanks for the advice. I extended my deadline to 7/21. I forgot about vacations and stuff like that. Also with the new catalog coming out, people may want to wait. However, convention is coming and I am sure demos want some cards.

Personally I am waiting to buy from the Summer Mini until I've seen the big catty. I want to make sure I don't get anything from the Summer Mini which has similar items in the big catty that I might like better.

Currently I have 3 items on my wishlist from the summer mini.

I orded Sheltering Tree too. Also Edgy Eloquence and Polka Dot posies. I really want Petal Patch papers & Bud Basics but gotta save some $ for the new catty!

I bet it has more to do with summer vacations and not waiting to commit to a swap with kids home for the summer, vacations, etc. I personally want every stamp set in the mini!!!

I'm new to the term "swap". What does it entail?

I am new to hosting too...I do not have any stamps for this book... I have swapped with several ladies, who repaied the favor when I hosted. If you go into a few swaps and kinda get to know the gals, perhaps that will help. Maybe you've tried that, but it did work for me...

Wow! I just checked out your swap and it looks like you have 24 swappers. That is great! I am in swaps all the time and usually we all just pick a set from the mini and make enough for everyone in it. So if you only had 10 swappers, that is great. Just make sure they all use a different set and you all will have 10 great ideas!!

A swap is when somebody is a hostess and they pick the swap(cards, scrapbook pages etc) and people sign up. At the end of it, you get back different cards or pages. It cool because everyone has such great ideas and you get to appreciate the work that people do. If you do a swap for 5 cards, you get back 5 different cards. I have been in 6 4 already and I am pretty new to the site, but have been stamping and scrapping for a long time.
