Default SU Wheels - Are they the only ones on the market?

I'm interested in finding more wheels, like SU has. I'm curious, do any other companies have wheels? If so, do they fit the SU handles? Thanks for any help!

Yes, there are a lot of other wheels by the same company that will fit the SU handles. I used to see them at Meijers and some craft stores. Good luck finding them!

Clearsnap makes the SU wheels and they also make Rollagraph. There are quite a few places online that you can find them. TAC carries them too. Try this link http://www.stampamania.com/rollagrap...aph_index.html and also http://www.clearsnap.com/

I'm wondering what's going to happen with the Rollagraph wheels. I noticed that Michaels clearanced all of theirs a while back. Now that the Gardners own Clearsnap, might the wheels become more exclusive?

Interesting stuff Phynkymama. Who are the Gardeners in relation to Clearsnap - new owners I assume, but do they market things differently? I'll have to get out there and get what I want now.

The only other wheels I've seen are by Rollagraph but SU!'s wheels are higher quality.

Personally, I think it's unlikely that they would become exclusive. They said they weren't going to change anything. (Of course, that could change at some point.) But, we haven't seen an increase in products in the catalog. In fact, we have less because they discontinued the chalk ink collections.

This is the second time that Michaels has clearanced the wheels. I think that a lot of people really don't know how to use them. SU and Rollagraph are both made by Clearsnap. I hope they both continue to make their wheels. I like the variety of the two lines.

The Colorbox Paintbox inkpads are made to ink a wheel. One roll over the ink pad will ink a wheel. Try this with your pigment and chalk ink. The images are really great.

My mistake earlier, TAC no longer carries the wheels.

The Gardners are Shelly(owner of SU) and her husband. I think stores are getting rid of them via clearance because they don't sell well. I have a lot of SU wheels I bought several yeas ago and don't use them. They are a pain to clean and I don't like having to buy separate ink cartridges for them. I have unmounted some and it does make it easier to use them.

That is very interesting that you unmount your wheels. I never thought of that! I LOVE wheels only because it is really quick to make a background. Now, to your point, I have maybe 1 or 2 ink cartridges. I just use the regular ink pads to ink and roll what I need. I haven't had any issues with running out of ink because what I've used it for has been short enough or the tapered off color effect looks just fine. When I do a "one sheet wonder" type page, I end up coloring over the faded ink anyway, so it just gives me more dimension. But you gave me more ideas of things to do with wheels if "I" want to retire them! Thanks for the idea!

I don't know about TAC, but I do know that my Michael's had the same wheel patterns for years and years...no wonder they finally got rid of them! They were probably dried out and brittle, lol! Clearsnap has some fantastic designs; I've just rarely seen them in stores. Maybe they really just don't sell well outside of SU?
