Default Help inking clear stamps

For Christmas, my SIL bought me a huge basket of stamping supplies from Michael's which contained a number of the $1 sets of clear stamps. When I tried to use them for a gift project, I couldn't get the stamps to ink well. I cleaned them using SU's stampin' mist, but when I inked them with classic ink (or markers), the ink beaded on the surface and was blotchy when I stamped it!!! Help! I have stamps that I can't use because I don't know how to make them ink well! (That spells stamping disaster!!!)

Try VersaFINE ink and CHALK inks. They work beautifully with clear stamps. :-D

Otherwise, take a fine sandpaper and gently sand the surface to rough it up a bit. That works well for me for the clear stamps that aren't inking well. The chalk or pigment inks work great with clear stamps too. Dye inks always tend to bead up on the clear stamps. Sanding will help with this, but pigment inks would work the best.

Thanks for the tips! I had no idea that clear stamps and rubber stamps were so different in how to manage (ink) them!!!

I just asked this on another thread, so I guess I got my answer here.

Pigment and craft work the best, true then? What about Staz On? That's considered permanenet right? Geesh, why can't ink be ink?
