Default How does a "trade" work on the B/S/T forum?

I'll be selling a few sets in the next couple of weeks. But I was wondering about trading sets on here with others.

If I post that I have a some sets to trade and post my list of things that I'm looking for, how does it work? Do I wait until I receive my stamp set from the other person THEN send out the one I'm trading it with? Or do they wait to see if they receive the one that I'M sending out? Or do we just send them both at roughly at the same time?

I just have visions of sending out a set and the other person saying they never got it, therefore never sent out their set.

Should I just stick to selling them?

I trade on here all the time! I love it! You just list the items you are offering up for trade and your wish list under it. Once you make a deal with someone you both mail it at the same time. I have made some great deals and have never had a problem. I always check to make sure they are not a brand new member. I bought something once from a new member and it was a really good deal. Total scam, nobody got anything from that person. It really is a good place to buy sell or trade. Go for it!!

I have also had good luck trading. Like Sandy says, I look to make sure they have been around awhile and just send as soon as the trade is agreed on. No offence (sp?) meant for new members since we were all new once but it makes me feel safer to know it's not someone popping in to get something for nothing. Wish I was still in Moosup so I could come to your sale. LOL!

I've traded three or four times and it all went well. I agree about making sure its someone who's been around a while. Its a great way to get items without exchanging money!

I've traded on SCS many times and always with good results. I do, however, ALWAYS send my trades with tracking info and ask the same from the other trader. It makes me feel more comfortable and there's at least a "proof" if a question arises.

OP again.

How does a trade work "price wise"?

Do you trade something for equal value? Or is it more of "Hey, I have these 3 stamp sets that I'd trade for your one set" kind of thing?
