Talking Treasure find

Instead of working on my much needed to finish Christmas cards I cleaned out a box that was stored in my closet that I had brought from my dad's house when he passed away.. My dad was known for buying things cuz they looked interesting.. Uhm TOO much TV time I say!! Anywho, to my surprise I found a couple of things in the box that I had TOTALLY forgotten I put in there. Erm does that tell ya its been in there a while?? *shakes head and starts with New Years Resolution list to sort thru things as I go*

One of the things was a bag of plastic "Easy Design Template Shapes for Arts and Crafts* There are over 100 in there ALL shapes and sizes and the the :idea lightbulb went off.. There were CLOUD shapes.. Ovals.. just omg every possible shape .. and all I could see was REVERSE masking taking shape on a lot of cards.. no more paper templates.. was so cool!! *looks up thanks pop*

the other was a box looked like a tiny storage box so I opened it and there hundreds of dye cut shapes from Winnie the pooh to ducks.. I know mostly they are used for scrapbooking but hey craftiness comes into play.. They are tiny so would be very small reverse masking.. or even to put them on a card.. Ya just never know what you will find in the back of a closet..

Just to give you an idea of something.. I found where my dad had a paper clipping kept of the house my parents sold back in 1981.. Was like memory lane seeing that picture...

Anywhoooooooo just wanted to share my treasure find.. Now I MUST finish my Christmas cards THEN I can play wiff me new stuff

Have a great day!!

I was affected by the same wave of Christmas Card Avoidance yesterday and reorganized a bunch of my craft room. No treasure finds like yours, though. How wonderful you found the clipping of your old home! I hope you're going to scrap it and share the page with us!

no treasure find here...

yours sound GREAT tho!

just avoiding the christmas cards... they are all done, have been for weeks! i just hate to 'pick one' for each person and address it. i have the hardest time trying to decide which one to send to whom and then i get a crampy hand with all that writing.

maybe there IS some ease to making them all the same! and using address labels. hhhmmm- let me think about that.

who am i kidding... i HAVE to make lots of different ones! i have too many different stamps. guess it just goes with the territory.
