Leaving on a jet plane

And trying to decide if I can take my mini Fiskars guillotine cutter in my carry-on bag. It's small (5x and the blade is about 6". I'm about 96% sure that TSA will confiscate it-although I sure can't imagine how it could be used as a weapon...Searched the TSA web site, but it's not clear, and I'm just curious if anyone has tried this and gotten thru. NO, I'm not checking any bags thru-that would be the easy solution.

I have not but, if you are going to be somewhere for a while? could you just mail it to the address ahead of time? or are you headed to a hotel?
