SU Markers Smudging

Has anyone else found this while using them??

I am trying to do up a card and as I color, the marker is coming off on my hand and smudging on the rest of the white paper.

Very frustrating!

I've never noticed this on my cards. What kind of paper are you using? Maybe if the paper has a coating on it, the marker won't absorb as fast.

Check the paper. There was a problem back several months ago with smudging problems on SU white paper. I've used the SU markers for years and have never had a problem.

I'm using SU whisper white and I'm noticing that my classic black ink is also smudging...I have to let it sit to dry, almost like a craft pad.

I just got my whisper white a few weeks ago too, so it's fairly recent.

This may be a weird question, but are you left-handed? I am and have the same problem with virtually everything I color, and even when I use a non-ball point pen. The inks smears everywhere, so I have to be really careful.

My kids perspire (nice way to say they get sweaty hands!) when they color (something about the strength of their grip), and they smudge everything.

Try taking a scrap piece of cardstock & resting your hand on that while coloring (the scrap will sit on top of the whisper white you are coloring).

I'm not sure what you mean. Why is your hand getting ink on it? Is your hand touching inked paper or the marker tip???

Sometimes the ink from the markers get on the plastic part of the barrel just above the nib. I usually just look at them before I use them. If there is any ink residue on that part of the barrel, I just wipe it off with a tissue before using them.

SU did recently have a problem with their whisper white, and it is apparently solved. I would take the rest of your paper back to your demo and she can handle a return. If it is within the 90 period from shipping, they should replace it.

This happened last night at a 10 for 10 I was at-- both cards we used marker on smudged and both cards were white. This turned me off from buying the markers. The black ink pad always seems super wet also. strange

I had that happen to me this week. But I switched to naturals white cs and it's perfect. The whisper white cs is ultra smooth, but not the naturals white. My markers are just about a year old, maybe they're still really juicy. HTH
