I have no local resources or major chains near me so all I can offer is online shopping resources.
I'd recommend Dick Blick (dickblick.com) - they have a 24 x 36 one for $63. Pearl Art Supply (pearlpaint.com) has a 24 x 36 one for $48.
Try doing a google search for <self healing mat>. Or, try an arts supply (versus fabric) store near you. Walmart used to sell them years ago; don't know if they still do.

i bought mine from my local drafting supply stoe. it's 18x24. they carried them in much larger sizes i think they had a 2.5'x3.5' or 3'x4'. the company is selectum.
I'm surprised that Joanne's doesn't have them. I got one there a few years ago that I use for cutting fabric with a rotary cutter. It's made by Fiskars and is about 2' X 3'. I also have a smaller one. I'd try a quilt shop. They'd be sure to have them.
