Any SU fairies out there who can share a link? I'm getting excited for the holidays! [email protected] TIA!

Allistamps123 08-10-2018 04:30 PM

Love the SU fairies!

CndnStamper 08-11-2018 06:43 AM

Please, please, me too!

crazysuziestamper 08-11-2018 09:20 AM

SU Fairies are you here today?? Please

rockybeta 08-12-2018 06:42 AM

I got mine from my demo on Thursday.........I have looked through it twice.......don't plan on ordering anything at this point........will look forward to what others think.

duranfan 08-14-2018 08:36 AM

I was not at all impressed. There were some pretty cute things, but at this point I have so much stuff it has to be pretty great for me to order anything. I didn't feel it with this one.

crazysuziestamper 08-15-2018 04:13 PM

Mine came in the mail today. I have mixed feelings about it. Not very impressed with offerings, but might order one or two of the bundles. The pricing on the bundles has gotten rediculous IMO. $45-$60 seems like a lot of $$$ to me. If you want the six new Stampin Blends colors they are scattered thoughout the cattie. Cattie just doesn't excite me.

Chris01 08-15-2018 06:17 PM

A bit disappointing. What I was looking for just not there. It is a great company, but just seem to miss a beat with new designs. I wish they would bring back some vintage Christmas impressions from years ago. Remember the stamp of a couple ice skating?

antiquestamper 08-16-2018 06:44 AM

Looks like I am in the minority! I found a lot of things I want from the catalog, and I’m trying to pare my list of must-haves down to a reasonable amount. Usually I don’t order much Christmas from the holiday catalogs, but there are a number of classic, timeless images that I think will become much-used favorites for me.

“Merry Christmas to All” is full of basic sentiment elements that can be combined in lots of different ways so although I skimmed over that one at first, it’s now going in my cart because I think it will get used a lot. And I have a number of deer dies from other companies, but I’ve always struggled with the size of the images and antlers that seem a little odd rather than whimsical. The “Dashing Deer” set is exactly what I’ve looking for.

I’m also excited for the “Winter Woods” bundle with the pine tree boughs that can be lifted to add a bit of dimension. I end up stamping so many holiday multiples and this looks like a quick and cute way to add interest. For Halloween, I am thrilled to have the “Spooky Sweets” bundle with the bat punch. I am crazy about making stuff for Halloween, and I end up cutting out dozens of tiny little bats for my projects. This punch will save me so much time! I’m also betting the bare tree dies from “Winter Woods” will be great for Halloween use too.

Finally, I’m happy to see a couple of embossing folders that I really like since those don’t seem to be as widely offered as they used to be amongst the various companies I shop with. And the big roll of Garden Green baker’s twine makes me happy because that’s the green I use most in my holiday stamping. Seeing the Shimmer Paint reminds me of the gorgeous sparkly spray that can be made by mixing some of the paint with 70% rubbing alcohol in a mister spray bottle...that always got oohs and aahs from people.

I’ve been stamping and collecting for 25 years now, and for some reason this catalog really got me excited...to each her own, right?

Chris01 08-16-2018 08:10 AM

Sometimes it takes someone throwing out ideas......like antiquestamper.
I have so many Christmas stamps already with similar images.
I like First Frost and Merry Christmas to All.
It is a pretty catalog if you need holiday stamps.

tynmicsmom 08-16-2018 10:35 AM

I love the Christmas catalog several stamp sets I want to get :)

Allistamps123 08-16-2018 03:51 PM

Mine came in the mail yesterday! I loved lots of things but won't get tons because I have tons!!!!!

I love the first page item-the set in the tin with the sentiments and matching punch-called Christmas Traditions punch box. Getting that!

I love the set with the lights and matching punch. Making Christmas Bright. I might get it. Making every day bright is cute too!

Love Farmhouse Christmas with the old truck but won't get it!

Love the red rhinestones- but $8.00? NopE!

Winter woods is beautiful but won't get it!

I will be getting the metallic paper and the tin tile embossing folder....in love with those!

The fall and Halloween items weren't my style. I do like the bat punch and matching stamp!

DCinkit 08-16-2018 04:02 PM

SU catalog fairies are the best!

RenT 08-16-2018 08:35 PM

If your demo had one sent to you direct from SU, you should have it already.

I wasn't excited overall. One stamp thrilled me: Wishing You Well.

The only other stuff I want is the Tin Tile emboss folder and the galvanized metallic paper, everything else I like but don't want to own.

acardstamper 08-17-2018 01:02 PM

I have mixed thoughts on the holiday catalog. At first I didn't see anything different, just a new twist on the basic themes: Trees, Deer, Ornaments, Alpine skis, sled etc., cute kiddie stamps, House and Tags. BUT after looking again, I see a few that I like I think I'll order ( Deer & Trees ). I really liked the Fall set called Country Lane and the Tin tile folder. So I'm pretty pleased with the catalog and can't wait to see some card examples. It takes me looking at the catalog several times to see everything. I agree with others that the prices are going too much. I liked the First Frost DSP but not at $14.00! Happy shopping everyone.

Cartermrc 08-17-2018 10:06 PM

I'm bummed at how much their prices have gone up since I started stamping 9 years ago. I have plenty of holiday stamps and lots of leftover DSP, I'm using the catalog for ideas.

Paula O. 08-18-2018 03:55 AM

I got my catalog yesterday. Lots of things I’d buy if I had unlimited funds and storage. I really like the tin embossing folder. I had to chuckle at the corrugated embossing folder. I still have my paper crimper!

And time :)! So many great products to use and so many great ideas.....I still have my paper crimper, too, and just used it yesterday. I saw a card on someone's blog that I wanted to recreate and she used that corrugated embossing folder, but I used my crimper instead. I love how I have enough stuff now that I can lay something aside for awhile to focus on something else in my stash, and then return to it and it is exciting and new to me again!

Me too! And I Will use it more now that it is popular haha.
I do like the tin tile folder, its different and vintagey. But so many things offered are a redo of what I have already. I mean how many ways can you reinvent the wheel and keep it round?

There arent many things I need anymore. I do like the set with all the words and the dies that cut out Merry, Happy, etc. Its pricey though, Canadian dollar. I have to think hard about that one.

JBgreendawn 08-18-2018 07:52 AM

I want the corrugate folder real bad

(that is the top of the list)
(my paper crimper always always goes sideways on me so, the paper ends up not straight after)

shirlb19 08-18-2018 09:52 AM

I have not received my catty yet, living in Canada is the reason I think. Takes longer to get delivered. I have seen lots of promo videos and I am like antique stamper. I like a lot of what I saw. BUT SU has gotten ridiculously expensive imo. so I will be on the fence most likely. I have so much already as well.

muscrat 08-18-2018 04:16 PM

Oh my! What don't I want? I think this is the best holiday catalog they've had in ages! I do agree with you that they are over priced, but if they lowered prices how would they pay for the gifts and trips for their high ranking sellers? LOL Have you seen those videos where they show what pillow gifts they got each night on their cruise to alaska? My friend is a demo and she doesn't get anything more than the discount, even though she tries hard. We just think the quality is good, so we spend what we can, when we can.

Boss 08-18-2018 07:25 PM

I havent received my holiday catty either! Im working up an order to put in soon (so I can take advantage of the $5 bonus/$100 merch offer in August).
Can someone please share the date that Holiday Catalog goes active?

Im guessing that its after the August bonus dollar special, but a firm date would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I never got rid of my crimper, either. Somehow I knew that I would regret it if I did.......everything old is new again......if you wait long enough ;)

shirlb19 08-18-2018 08:31 PM

Well, I regretted not having a crimper, so I will most likely get this e.f.!

I most certainly agree about the prices going up. I dont like the fact that more and more you have to buy the bundle as opposed to just the stamp. I have heard this complaint from my American friends as well when I am there. In fact I have been told they have cut back on classes and ordering

.regards catty I am not impressed as it seems to me that when it comes to this time of year catty it is too vintage. In other words nothing new ....same old same old. If you look at other companies, they are more innovative and come up with new images and ideas. The annual catty seems to have nice surprises from time to time.

Not sure who designs their Christmas stamps but time to move on, and not build on old stamp designs.....for example the new lovely as a tree lookalike. For this catty its a pass for me.

muscrat 08-19-2018 08:59 AM

You don't have to buy bundles. You just save 10% if you do. The bundles are a savings if you plan to get the matching dies anyway, but they can still be purchased separately.

canada goose 08-20-2018 07:57 AM

Am I incorrect that Blended seasons only comes in a bundle?

It comes as a bundle but you can also purchase just the stamp set or just the dies.

ooops I see that I can purchase just the stamp set.

Here is another thought on this catty. In view of the fact that Lovely as a Tree( which I Love) as already a popular set why come ou5 with another similar with dies.
They already had LAST so why not just come up with the Dies. In My humble opinion the company should try to make more products that can be used with their best sellers, instead of duplicates. It used to annoy me when in the past they would come up with new sentiments that required you to buy a new punch ugh!

Soooo for example Tim Holtz and Lawn Fawn build on their foundation of stamps where one stamp set can be used to accessorize or compliment an existing set.
For example whenTH came out with his stamp set of crazy dogs etc he came out with accessories that worked with them, making existing set go further getting more mileage out of them KWIM

Just my musing....😉

shirlb19 08-20-2018 09:48 PM

I think that would be a huge seller, for SU to come out with dies for Lovely as a Tree. I managed to get the evergreen die from Dave's Dies for this set quite awhile ago. But I think SU has shutdown any hope of getting this die from Dave now. Very sad. And makes me angry at SU too. I do, however like the looks of this new bundle they have coming out. The Rooted in Nature one, I mean.

I thought the same thing about the corrugated folder! I still have my crimper too! Oh, that just made me think of hair crimpers! Remember those?

Why yes, I do! Five daughters, all but one born in the 80's - how could I NOT know? Ah, good times... Line from Three to Tango (while looking at a photo): "It was the 80's - they MADE you look like that!" I feel the same way about my 70's yearbook photos, lol...

gregzgurl 08-21-2018 05:07 AM

I've been trying to resist, but I keep seeing some very cool things in sneak peeks on various blogs (Mary Deatheredge was ultimately my undoing), so now I'm hoping an SU fairy will visit me, too: [email protected]. Thanks in advance for the enabling... ;)

shirlb19 08-21-2018 10:06 AM

Ha, Sue, I always like to hear about demo's blogs. Had not heard of Mary Deatheredge, but now I have thanks to your post. Thanks for passing on some more enabling lol....

What in particular made you cave, that Mary was demo-ing? Enabling minds want to know, if you care to share, that is, lol......

Shirl

fl_beachbum 08-21-2018 10:29 AM

They shared in a demo video that the new tree set is meant to complement Lovely as a tree and provide more seasonal options. But I do agree with you Canada Goose; i have requested many times that they create more images that are scaled to be used together. As you said - be used to accessorize or compliment an existing set.

I was curious and looked it up. Her name is spelled Deatherage. Here's a link to her SU page:

Stamps ? n - Lingers | Coming to you from just south of Atlanta, GA!

Thanks for the recommendation! I haven't scrolled through .... yet.

gregzgurl 08-21-2018 03:02 PM

I can't claim first knowledge (or correct spelling, lol) - I heard about her from Stamping Servant on this thread: Who are the latest SU demo rock stars? - Splitcoaststampers. I was curious (almost always am) so I clicked through and took a look around. She uses products in unique ways and always dresses up the inside, too, which I rarely do. The buffalo check background sucked me in, along with some of the ways she was using stamps and diecuts together in collage-y, layered compositions. Plus, she's doing "catalog shares" and I went to that page to see what you'd get and that made me want to look at the actual "stuff", not just a list of it, and down the rabbit hole I went...
