Default So, am I not using proper etiquette?

I have done a bunch of regular trades as well as stamped images trades fro the past 2 months(ok, since the day after I found the site  ) and the past few things I have gotten, had cards in them!! Most blank with a post it note in them (thanks) I feel like a slug! Should I have been doing this all along?? Is there a link or thread with the "Emily Post" trade rules somewhere?? Sorry to all I have traded with.... I will definitely correct my behavior in the future, but honestly, didn't know!! So seriously, is there a post I missed???

THANKS ALL

I didn't know about this either, but now that you say it, it makes sense...thanks for being willing to ask and share your experience.

You mean if you include a card to thank the person you're trading with (such as trading a stamp set) you should not write a little note in it???? Why???

No, there's not a protocol for including cards, but many people just do. Many will include the post-it note inside their card, just in case the person receiving it wants to use the card (or save it!) themselves. If you still have their addresses, it's not too late. But if you don't, don't worry about it. Many, many trades go on without those little extras.

Actually, I did sent a little thank you card to the person I traded with. I just never heard of the post it note thing.

I guess it depends on the person. I have done various trades on here and bought stuff and never received a card to reuse or whatever, maybe a post-it saying thanks. I did have one person make a card out to me personalizing the inside for buying off of them. So guess it depends on the person.

Default Card etiquette

I made a card to the person I first traded with using the set I got from her. She was thrilled.
Since then, I haven't done so again, not to be mean, but I did so many at once that I didn't have time!
I have done things like giving inspiration sheets away vs. selling them to the first inquirers and only asked them to pass on the RAK (Random Act of Kindness) to someone else. That went over well.

I have received many items with just the item I traded, items with a sticky note saying thanks, and some went to extremes with a card or even cards that were just for me to have.

I don't believe there is any protocol, but rather just a nice thing some do and some don't ~ for many reasons (kids, work, busy, life, kids! hahaha)

Take care & don't worry about it! Happy Stamping!

I usually enclose a little card to say thanks, sometimes I sign the cards, sometimes I use a post it note. I have not received a card back with all of my trades and sales, but thats ok, I do it just because i like to share my work with others.

I understood the purpose of the post it vs writing in the card, thing is, I usually ONLY put in a hastily scribbled on post it & when I got a few lovely cards with recent trades I thought I had screwed up. Thanks for the help everyone!!
