Default fun and versatile masculine set!?!

Need help with choosing a stamp set!!! I'm looking for a set that can be for cards and scrapbooking (I have 3 boys) that is on the masculing side. I'm thinking of the Loads of Love set and it's accessories because it seems like it would be fun to use, but am I limited with this set? Am I going to feel like I can't use this set to do more than one card per person? Is there a masculine set that is a favorite of yours?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, just trying to make wise purchases.
Thanks

I'm still trying to find a masculine set for the same uses as you.but not a whole lot to chose from that can be used for younger kids like a pre-teen and older men.

I don't have many sets that could really be called masculine, but I do have LOTS of stamps in various sets that are great for making cards for my dad, brother, fiance, and male friends. I've used All Natural, Simple Sketches, Shapes and Shadows, All I Have Seen, Lexicon of Love, Reverse Prints (hostess), Kanji, Lovely As a Tree, and All the Best to make guy-friendly cards. Also, many images and layouts could go either way depending on the color scheme you use.

Default anyone used the Loads of Love set?

Thanks for the input, I'll have to check those out. I don't suppose you've used this set? I kind of really like it......

Nope, sorry, don't have that one. Wasn't a big fan of the look of that set, even though lots of cute samples have been posted in the gallery. It was one of the few sets that I substituted for when I got my demo starter kit.

Thanks Rachel, I checked out your gallery and you have some really great cards! I am definitely creatively challenged and find it quite difficult to look at the stamps and 'see' what I can do with them. It sure helps to see examples of what others are doing!

Lovely as a Tree is nice for masculine cards. I use Coast to Coast (retired) a lot too.

Have several of the other sets the ladies have mentioned but LOVE my Loads of Love (& accessory set) - maybe 'cause it has the look of a truck I find in my doodles. Have used it for different types of cards even for the same person. I just give the truck a different look (colors, patterns, turny wheels, flat tires, extend the bed,add a 'trailer' using the truck bed) - even did a spinner card for my MIL that made it seem like the pile of bday presents was falling out of the back of the truck. FUN!
Have fun

I plan to buy Sporting Goods for boy cards. My DD is very girlie though, so we've not been invited to any boy parties the last couple of years...

Really glad to hear about how you've used your set Kitty. Those are all great ideas that just never would have occured to me! I am definitely creatively challenged.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to settle on the Loads of Love set now. I admit I'm quite anal when it comes to lining things up perfectly, so how difficult is it to get the accessories stamps become part of the image? Does it take quite a few tries to get things seamless? I'm trying to let go and tell myself that these are homemade and not computer generated and so my cards will have that 'one of a kind look'. But it's so hard for me to be okay with that........I just need to breathe through it......hoo hoo heeee.
Thanks for the inspiration

After I stamp my truck I put a piece of scrap paper over the truck bed so if I'm a little off it won't be so noticible and if your load is "floating" you can use a black marker to connect it to the bed. I love this set!

Hey Roxanne -- I just got Lovely as a Tree and it is beautiful ... however, I also have Loads of Love and the accessories and I think this is your best bet. You can make awesome cards with this set, for so many occasions. As for lining things up, I got myself the Stampamajig and it is a WONDERFUL tool ... I'm not sure how I survived without it before. You can line things up perfectly the first time. Good luck deciding what to get!

Roxanne, I also have a hard time lining up stuff like this and lining up the 2 step stampin sets so I bought the Stamp-a-ma-jig and it works great! Everything is lined up perfectly every time!

I have LOL and the accesories, I love this set, haven't had much time to play with it, but think it can be used as either, I also have Lovely As A Tree, which is one of my very favorite sets, I like having sets that can be used for either, but did buy my first manly set by getting Power Up..lol. My fiance' is into power tools, so thought it would be GREAT!

Glad to see more positive feedback about the LOL sets! Laura, the paper trick is a great idea and I'll probably be trying that one first. I have yet to see the stampamajig in real life and don't think that I would have a need for it with my other stamp sets. I'll have to see if I can try it out one day though, sounds like a popular tool.
Ooh I can't wait for my order!!! I'm going to have to stretch out the time for my next order because this one is pretty much over the top for me, let's just say I'll be getting all the sellabration stamps..... Maybe I'll just plan on one huge purchase a year, at sellabration time of course!

Hi Roxanne.

I also have loads of love. I find it fun, tho, I need to explore more with it. I also use Lovely as a Tree a lot for men's cards. And now I find that Balmy Breezes can be fairly masculine as well. Or anything with leaves in it. Good luck!
