Coloring with Prismacolor pencils vs Inktense pencils-what's the difference?
I currently color with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I've seen posts on Inktense pencils but I'm not sure what the difference is between the two. Are the Inktense pencils more vibrant, is that the difference?
Inktense are a watercolor pencil with ink in the "lead" so when they dry they are relatively permanent as opposed to regular watercolor/watercolor pencils where the color can be reactivated when it becomes wet.
With Inktense being a watercolor pencil you can drag and move the color around whilst it is wet.
There are some great tutorials on Inktense on YouTube.
Also remember you need to work while the inktense is wet. Once it has dried it will not reactivate. You can place another colour over it without fear of it becoming muddy. You csn blend colours but activating them both at the same time to do this.
