Default SU Die cut stamps

I'm sure that this topic has been addressed, but I searched and couldn't find anything recently, or perhaps I have named them wrong!

I bought one of the Simply Sent card kits as my half price item this past month. It was fun to be able to throw together some cards that quickly, but the best part was not having to cut and trim the stamps myself! I'm a perfectionist, so I labor over trimming my stamps. This was heaven for me!

Anyone else like this and wish it was at least an option? I know that SU talks about it being more expensive, but as a very good SU customer, I would love it!

Nancy

I received one myself as a half price item and I am impressed. You get to try out things you would not normally order in larger quantities like the 3 crayons that were included in mine, the glue dots and various other components.

At half price it is well worth it (over now though) and as I said, you get to try out the different products to see if you want to get the full sizes/ complete selections of those products.

What did you think of not having to trim the stamps?

Default Don't mind trimming the stamps

While I don't really mind trimming the stamps, I have made some errors. One alphabet set has the B upsidedown. Cannot fix it. A set with 3 large flowers has 2 of the flowers also up side down. Cannot fix them either but have written on the front to turn them over.

There are some risks with trimming the stamps, I have to admit but if you mark it and watch for it, they can still be used.

Just microwave the block for 5-10 seconds (start off with 5) and pull the rubber off and reposition it.

I am way too an** to want die cut stamps, I trim mine so close that even with the Country Living set that was die cut, I trimmed them down more.

I would be willing to pay a few dollars extra for each stamp set to have them pre cut like that. I got the Simply K one, and I can't believe how much I liked it! It took no time at all to mount it! Come on SU!, let's see them pre-cut!!!!!!

I DO NOT want die-cut stamps all the time. I don't mind a set or two if it's something special but I'd rather cut the way I want to cut.

I agree with you! That would be so nice! Trimming is my least favorite part of stamping!

Although it's not my favorite thing to do, cutting the stamps is much easier now that I have the SU! scissors. And I'd rather do the cutting myself and save some money so I have more money to spend on more stamps!

I would LOVE to have the stamps die cut. Although, maybe not as an option because I'm a bargain hunter. I wouldn't want to know I am paying more. I'm also a perfectionist and trimming my stamps is one more thing to labor over. Here's to hoping SU goes this route. Come to think of it I wouldn't mind it they went unmounted (although I'm not expecting them to) I want to go unmounted but I just can't bring myself to do my SU sets.

I love trimming the rubber! I even do it for a friend of mine too. It is relaxing. Even if they came die-cut (like a lot of other stamps I buy), I trim them down too. I also like separating entire parts of the image (like the three separate little circles (in Seeing Spots) - those are three separate stamps for me now.

It would be nice if they offered the option, like we used to be able to choose between wood and foam mounted. I don't know how cost effective that would be for SU though.

Why don't you just peel the label off and turn it over? Comes off very easily and stick fine.

You still can trim it, though. You just don't have to. I hope that all of their sets go to die-cuts, so I can make that choice myself.

I don't mind trimming, although boy I sure loved the die cut ones in the simply sent kit!
SU's big background size monogram letters also come die cut. I am hoping they're considering making the switch with all their stamps.

Have you guys with the hurting hands tried the SU scissors? They cut thru that rubber like butter. I easily can mount 8 to 10 sets in a sitting with them.

So with the simply sent stamps they come die cut but not mounted? Just wanting to check before we start selling them here in Australia.

Thanks.

That's right. They are cut but still unmounted. I bet you will love them and so will your customers!

I don't mind cutting and mounting my stamps -- except for the sets like the Flexible Phrases.

You will love the kits. You get the whole sheet of rubber but they are cut out and you just pull them apart and stick them on the wood and the front part with the picture of the result of course.

Nice you will get them in Australia. I love that place, we were there 2 years ago. Where are you in Australia? We were in Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart and Cairns, Port Douglas, Great Barrier Reef, Uluru (Ayers Rock) and found it most interesting.

The kits are super cool. I like them because they really do contain EVERYTHING you need to make the ten cards. Even adhesives.
The only thing you might need is a pair of scissors to cut out stamped images, but everyone hase at least one pair of scissors, even if they are junky. (upsell paper snips here!)
You can tell customers that they will be making cards right away when they open the box!
